Here are the results for Week 2 of Fantasy Geekball.
Thanks to all of those who voted. The hottest group was again Group C with 129 voters contributing. Overall 15,400 votes were cast, well down on week 1's 26,000.
If you have somehow missed out on hearing about Fantasy Geekball there are a load of lists and threads around. Start -> here

Group A
Axis of Evil 7 - 0 Love Boat
AbStrat Hotspurs 1 - 6 The Pyongyang Floppy Missiles
Abstract Strategy Stars (ASS) 3 - 4 Team Rocket

ASS's second close loss

Group B
The Randy Dandies 1 - 6 Isafjordur GC
Daniel's Shelf 5 - 2 Wrede's of the Lost Ark
Arkham Asylum Inmates 2 - 5 Killer Whale Tank

Daniel keeps the group open

Group C
Ugly Americans 7 - 0 Agonizing Gems
The Clemson Vagrants 5 - 2 Grandma's Tsar Bomba
Alpha Strike 4 - 3 Star Force

Ugly American's put down their marker

Group D
The Troublemakers 4 - 3 Jigglypuffs
The Rebellion 3 - 4 Team MENSA
The Bullseyes 5 - 2 The Calm Fluffy Bunnies

Bullseyes look strong, Team MENSA's 2nd close victory

Group E
The Fellowship 2 - 5 Sheepbeaters
Team Cobra Kai 3 - 3 The Cult of the Mostly New
OneAndAQuarter 3 - 4 RubberNips

The Cult are robbed in a draw, RubberNips second close victory

Group F
The Montreal Basements 1 - 6 Powersquid
Rock'em Sock'em Geekbots 1 - 5 Team Mate
Elmhurst (Ends in) A's 3 - 4 Out of Print Masters

Masters & Team Mate looking good

Group G
Team Brazil 2 - 5 The TOP 10
Flirting With Disaster 2 - 5 The Business
Dustin's Team 3 - 4 The Pawn Stars

Looking like a 3 horse race already

Group H

Wars and Rumors of War 1 - 6 The Wargamer's Heaven
Superfluous Supercilious Seven 1 - 6 Kitty Tilly's Ninja Kittens
Backwoods Sheep Screwers 5 - 2 Fantasy Flight Flyers

Another 3 horse race, but without the top 2 seeds in the group!

'A' Home Advantage?
'B' teams got more votes than 'A's this week, so Home Advantage may not be real. But I will continue to follow my (fairly randomised) allocation of teams to A and B just in case.

Week 3 games will probably kick off on Monday. Here are the tables after Week 2:

First there was Hearts, then there was Spades, and now we bring you Clubs. The suit of clubs finally gets some respect!

I've barely squeaked out wins two weeks in a row. In fact, late in the afternoon yesterday I was losing. God must have been smiling upon me. cool

...but what's this I hear? They sound like funeral drums! shake Dear god, please do not forsake me!! Help me through next week's game with team Bullseye. Please! This will be my true hour of need. (that is, until I meet the Ugly Americans or Killer Whale Tank zombie )

You could say that I "barely" lost...

I was "stripped" of victory...

You problem is you tried Liguor in the Front and Poker in the Rear; I would suggest reversing that - might prove to work...

TEAM ALPHA STRIKE PRESS RELEASE
I am also stunned by the 0-7 thrashing the Ugly Americans gave to the Agonizing Gems. Trends can be so fickle. Fortunately, we were offered a significant profit for out BSDM fetishwear division before the stores even opened. We hope the Razzle Dazzles or Roughy Duffies (or whatever they are called) appreciate their new acquisition.

We detect a distinctive statist scent to the propaganda being put out by the UGLY AMERICANS. We all know America is the motherland of corporate capitalist democracy. We believe the UGLY AMERICANS are not Americans at all but are socialist immigrant plants from either North Korea or the Thrift State. Although the Pyongyang Floppy Missles have the launch pads firmly placed on the Axis of Evil (TM), it appears that the UGLY AMERICANS are actually agents of the little known but nefarious Thrift State. Surely all the forces of future gaming can unite to stop this travesty. I beg Star Force, Grandmas Tzar Bomba and the Cult of the Mostly New to join us in our condemnation of this travesty.

Franklin T
Director of Marketing.Team Alpha Strike.
