I love the pictures on the game however I thought I would see how it played with a normal deck (thus saving me space on the shelf for something else ):

Your thoughts please....

Straw. A game for 4-7 players.
This can be played with a normal deck of cards.

Deal 4 cards to each player. The player to the left of the dealer begins.
Play you cards in turn: Each player plays a card face up on the stack, summing (and announcing) the values as they are laid, drawing their hand back up to 4. The first person to lay a card that takes the stack to more that 50 goes bust. At this point everyone else scores the value of cards held in their hands. Record the scores and play until everyone has dealt once.

Special cards:
A - 10 : As listed, A = 1
J = Back (Reverse direction of play)
Q = Copy (Whatever the last card was)
K = Whatever he likes (a value between 1 and 10)
A - 10 of Hearts: negative value i.e 2♥ = -2, 5♥ = -5 NB. Hearts are negative for scoring too.
Joker or A♥: Special card: If you play the Joker on a stack worth 50 only you score this turn. This is the only time this card can be played. For scoring, like all other picture cards it is worth 0. If you play this card and win you redraw before scoring the value of cards in you hand.

Optional rules:
Take the 9 and 10 of hearts out of the pack.
Play the heart picture cards as negatives too:
The Jack of Hearts skips a go (reverse a reverse)
The Queen of Hearts is negative the previous value
The King of Hearts is a negative value between -1 and -10
The Special card is worth 1/100 and can be played at any time so once that card has been played if anyone gets the stack to exactly 50 they are then the only person to score.
