I found this odd cube amongst my games. It's probably about 1/2" cube. Upon each side there is spots, between 1 and 6 spots to be exact, with no side being the same. The cube is white, the spots are black.

I seem to recall having played games as a child that included these, but I know it's not a piece from Battleship.

I took two pictures of it, one of each side so you can see the spot configuration.

More information. It is not a wooden cube, it's some sort of polymer or something.

Ooh a little higher, now a bit to the left, a little more, a little more, just a bit more. Oooh yes, that's the spot!

If it was a pair I would say it would have come from the best selling game of all time Monopoly, but as it is not a pair then it probably doesn't. Sorry I couldn't be any more help.

Could you take some better pictures? These are too blurry... this so called "cube" could be just about anything.

OMG it could be one of these escaped from the bottle!

Oh no, wait a minute. The dots don't seem to match the configuration visible in your pictures. Move right along.

It's clearly an ancient prototype golf ball. Of course, at the time it was called a golf cube.

Clearly you are mistaken. You appear to have found two 2-D hexagons.

I'm thinking the position of the dots have some relation to the game. I am reminded of a war game, with the different sides representing different formations.

This might not even be from a game. I'm thinking it's a connector from some sort of newfangled child's building set, not unlike Fiddlesticks:

Well, I thought I found it, but I was wrong. I thought it was Bendy Bob from The Big Taboo, but there were key features that were wrong:

1 This cube is not covered in fake purple hair.
2 The cube does not bend.
3 The cube has no face.

Dang it.

It might be some sort of synthetic cowrie shell. Maybe it came from a cheap version of Pachisi?

Jeez... what a bunch of noobs. It is clearly a broken piece of a tesseract used to generate random numbers by higher dimensional aliens that have been observing earth for centuries. Good luck finding the other seven pieces!

Could be either one of the last six suggestions made. If only you had a way to just randomly select one of them and settle on that.

I agree with Maksimov. It is in fact a camel. (a spotted camel). I was also a camel spotter for approximately one year (give or take a year). And once you spot a camel then it is a spotted camel. Camels in fact have a front, a back, two sides, a top and bottom. As opposed to a spotted dromedary which has a front, a back, two sides, a top and a bottom and of course one hump.

By the pattern of spots on your camel, I would say that it is not a Norwegian Blue camel since that is something completely different.

It took some searching but I've found more samples of these in the image library under the game Backgammon. It was an ancient game. I wonder if anybody knows. blush
