The Clive Barker movie? Bless your heart.

For me, it has to be Bubba Ho-Tep, but I knew what I was getting into before it arrived. I had read the Lansdale story some ten years before.

Before there was Netflix, I just bought whatever weird movie sounded good on DVD. Got some good gems based on blind faith, my favorite of which is Battle Royale (which I'm quite surprised is available in the US on Netflix).

One of my sister's friends netflixxed the movie Kung Fu Mummy. We watched about two minutes of it (which involved a guy dressed as a mummy beating up a topless woman after a game of strip poker). Needless to say, that's as far as we got.

Weird... weird... weird...

From IMDB:

"God disembowels himself with a straight razor. The spirit-like Mother Earth emerges, venturing into a bleak, barren landscape. Twitching and cowering, the Son Of Earth is set upon by faceless cannibals."

Quite right. They already got their gratuitous boob shot out of the way in the first two minutes, so why bother watching the rest?

Before netflix the hardest movie to get through though was Salo.

Imagine the most vile horror show, filled with endless sodomy and people being forced to eat poo, then make it really boring to watch.

The most human moment in the film is someone saying "Heil Hitler!"

The banality of evil, incarnate!

Ugh. This movie was a huge disappointment. At least the ten minutes I watched were.

Alien cats come to earth to save the world from a monster trying to break into our dimension to consume us all.

This may be the most bizarre fight scene in the history of cinema:

Sir you have stolen 5:35 of my life. I will chalk it up to learning to be aware of descriptions of things with words like; Alien cats, monster, dimension, consume, bizarre.

As far as the weirdest thing I've Netflixed goes, I watch a lot of pretty out there art films, cult horror, and "extreme" Asian cinema (Miike, etc.), but one of the most unique films I've watched recently is Dracula: Pages From a Virgin's Diary. It's essentially a retelling of Dracula in the style of an early silent film. Oh, and it's also a ballet.

Two come to mind:
Cat Soup, trippy anime movieella;
Tender Loving Care, an interesting but weirdly disturbing interactive movie (the characters went to see a psychiatrist, and after those visits, he turned to you and asked you questions, your answers to which decided the progress of the story.)

It is an interesting film to watch. A lot of weird for weirdness sake. I loved the way they had Medea's girlfriend presented as a silent movie.

Definitely not for everyone, if the site of gay zombie sex offends you then not a good choice. For everyone else I would say it is worth watching. For the gore hounds, the make your own orifice scene was interesting,

I'm not one to add really weird movies. I usually trust my instincts and with really obscure stuff I'll only get based on recommendations. So really, the weirdest thing I've ever gotten is probably Lie With Me.
