The Ultimate Trivia Game lives up to its name as it has some excellent questions. The questions offer a nice variety of complexity and subject matter which is just what one wants in a trivia game.
The mechanics are very simplistic. Up to four players or teams (I suggest teams with the toughness of the questions) start in the middle free space. There are two other free spaces along with 6 "News Centers" which serve the purpose of the wedge spaces in Trivial Pursuit.
The good news is there are no dice. So you aren't constantly hoping to get just the right number to land on a wedge or the middle spot for the win.
One moves around the board in a variety of directions, always having to answer a question of the color landed on to continue.
Now, a good mechanic. Each team gets 4 free guesses and 4 free moves to start the game. One can earn more freebies (either guesses or moves, your choice) by answering hard questions or by answering questions of your opponents choice while on a Free Space. You can also just move through a free space by answering a question in your chosen category.
Free guesses can be asked to take more chances at answering a question. Free moves can be used to more quickly around the board while answering fewer questions.
Its novel. The questions are good. What more could a trivia lover want.
I give it a 7 for now but this one could go up.
