Hey guys,

Anyone have any good suggestions for D-Day/D-Day +X scenarios? I've played Bocage Blockage from the recent Action Pack and it was a great time. What else is good from that one? I think I have about 4-5 hours.

Also, what would you suggest otherwise? (I.E. Not from the Normandy 44 Pack but D-Dayish)

Thanks!

If you can find a used copy of Paratrooper: ASL Module 2 on eBay, it's all nice, short Normandy scenarios. Hedgerow Hell: ASL Deluxe Module 2 is also good, and can still be found in some game stores, but the scenarios may be longer than what you want.

There are quite a few short scenarios in this pack.

The PdH pack from Critical hit has the Ranger landing if you want something priced a little lower. I've heard the Omaha scenario is about 40 turns, not sure how many of those other scenario's are full landing scenario's.

I have PdH and it looks good, but waiting on the Omaha module until I get the CoB re-print because I lack the rules for the landings and NOBA.

Did you get the BFP 2 pack? You may own Beyond the Beachhead 1. The reprint looks great with about 16 scenarios around Normandy (all after D Day though) and the other is scenario's on Operation Cobra.

For the Americans

Gavins Take from ASL Classic
Backs to the Sea (ASL 3) from Yanks
2 or 3 from CH

For British side of the invasion:
Tactics 1 (June 5th)
View From the Trenches 8, 21
Point of the Sword or Throwing down the Gauntlet from FKaC
J2 has 2
Pegasus Bridge of course

Not sure what you own or could get your hands on for I assume this Saturday?

I own all of that. Finding it is another issue.

IS there a comprehensive scenario list somewhere?

Tom, maybe we should play something from Pegasus Bridge. Wow, the GBGers with a CG map...

The CG rules aren't hard.

Another CG with a bridge?

You better take the Germans Andrew.

Speaking of which still up for continuing on with our PBEM?

My list did come from an excel spreadsheet with the dates of the action. If it is not one of those links I'll forward it on to you.

The rules for the British are very easy because they don't get to purchase anything. cry

The rules for the landing at night next to a river in a swamp on the other hand....

good luck with that.

I'm 2/3 of the way through the Pegasus bridge scenarios, and they are good fun, and except for PB6, quick. Haven't tried the campaign game, though.

I was going to suggest BtB1 myself. There's a really neat variety of scenarios in there, most of very reasonable size.

I haven't been following ASL releases much lately and didn't notice until now that BtB2 includes BtB1. At $40, that's a steal of a pack - I think I might have paid more just for BtB1. Great stuff - definitely in the "third party must have" category at the new price.

Point du hoc is a good call too. That MUST be under a ton of things somewhere...

BtB is also a good thought though I don't like the boards they play on. HoB does release good stuff.

I don't remember if all of the scenarios use the new boards or not. I do recall that the hex grids on the boards were a little funky or something. But do check out the scenarios. Just about all of them sound pretty fun and have some unusual situations.
