My current favorite is a Rocky Patel The Edge Lite Robusto!

What's your current favorite cigar or which ones would you recommend?

By the way, I don't smoke in my house or around my games. I do enjoy smoking while taking a walk around the neighborhood or while visiting a bar or two in Northern Kentucky.

Used to.

That is a pastime that I can't afford right now. But, when I could, the Padron 1964 Anniversary Classico Maduro, or an Ashton maduro were my favorites

Yep, maduros are the best.

If you're on a budget try the Onyx Mini Belicoso. They're delicious and they're only about $3 each if you buy by the box. Sometimes they burn a little funky but only about half the time, and that's a small problem when considering how great they are for the price.

I used to think I knew a little something about cigars. Then I realized that they universally smell terrible and leave your mouth feeling slimy. Plus, what good is smoking something when you're not supposed to inhale?

(pack a day for 20 years, quit for the last 5)

I love the smell, and a good Scotch cleans the mouth out nicely.

Congrats on the five years smoke-free.

Are there any board games with cigar themes? If not, there should be! Players could invest in growing tobacco, having it rolled into cigars, and selling it to local markets or exporting it. Hey, this game could rip off (or "pay homage to") GUATAMALA CAFE, DARJEELING, and PUERTO RICO all at the same time.

The only ones I smoke are "Hoyo de Monterrey", "LE HOYO du Maire" from Cuba.

Nothing beats Drew Estates. I love the Acid line with Kong Cameroons being my favorite.

The top dog is from the Natural line, however. The Irish Hops is the king of cigars for my money.

For reference I am also a fan of CAO and Gurkha.

Avid pipe smoker, love the occasional cigar (about 1 a fortnight).

I have diy'ed a thermador out of a large cooler and have a few boxes aging.

Best value I have found are the Padron Londres, either natural or maduro.

For some reason, I crave a cigar more in hotter weather. Probably makes sense, granted the tobacco is grown in the tropical zones.

Absolutely. For the price of 1 decent cigar, you can buy almost a weeks worth of the finest pipe tobacco available.

Sorry about the thread hijack but...,

It is very important to get a pipe with excellent smoking qualities.

In my view, the best bang for your buck in pipes are one of these:

http://www.zemanpipes.com/pipeslist.php?pipecat_id=5

I own 4!!

Otherwise, great value first pipes are pipes by Savinelli, Peterson or Stanwell. Out of these 3, I rate Stanwell ahead by a nose, but they are all excellent smokers.

Hang out at:

http://www.smokersforums.co.uk/

Really friendly, helpful people.

This is a great source for tobacco suggestions:

http://tobaccoreviews.com/

Once you have your pipe and tobacco, it is a question of developing your technique in packing the pipe, ligting it correctly, and smoking it at a nice steady, gentle pace.

Another important point is to clean your pipe after smoking (pipe cleaners dipped in rubbing alcohol), and leave it for anywhere from 1 day to 7 days to let it dry out before the next smoke.

Enjoy!!
