Poor theme choice by the sound of it.
It was the theme that attracted me to the game in the first place and like I said, building the computer was quite fun. The game falls apart once you have your computer built though.
I think the game would play much better with two simple rules changes:
1. Each computer part has a minimum purchase cost.
The better parts would have higher minimum costs. This would give players a guide as to how much to bid and would make the "best" parts unavailable until later in the game.
2. Players are given cash returns based on their computers playing games successfully.
This would encourage players to build a cheap computer to start with to get money in to save for better parts. As the game progresses, players can build a new "better" computer and discard the old computer - this gives players something to do for the whole game.
