I'm sure folks have seen these geeklists, but there are still some games I have that I'm not sure about which size sleeves to use...

Euro sleeves for games like Agricola and Dominion @91x59mm (aka 3.58 x 2.32in)
E.g. Mayday brand euro sleeves
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/34807

smaller sleeves for games like Ticket To Ride (base game, NOT the 1910 deck!), TransAmerica, Amun-Re, and Pillars Of The Earth @68 MM X 45 MM (aka 2.68in x 1.77in)
E.g. the smaller sized Mayday brand euro sleeves
http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/41513

"Ameri-sleeves". Not quite the same as Mayday's euro sleeves, but sleeves for games like Magic The Gathering or Race For The Galaxy.
E.g. Dragonshield brand sleeves or "penny sleeves".
everything else, including odd shaped cards.

Have you ruled out Bridge/Yu-Gi-Oh /"Japanese" sized sleeves as an option?
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/42772

They're reasonably common - I think most of the Ticket to Ride series cards are this size, for example.

I've found it hard to find clear sleeves in this size, though.

That's what I did at first, but a cards alone can only take so much water damage, "grime", and grinding before wear and tear really stand out like a top hat.

This size of sleeve is not long enough. It is about 2mm too short. 1mm or so of the card will usually stick out of the top of the sleeve.

What does the sleeve size attribute mean? It's some 4-digit number like 5578 or something like that.

Putting the number into their search box leads to a page that gives the dimensions of the sleeve. For instance Sleeve 5890.
