I can also recommend Jonathan Israels The Dutch Republic: Its Rise, Greatness, and Fall 1477-1806. Probably the best english account I have read of the revolt.
Lisa Jardine's The Awful End of Prince William the Silent: The First Assassination of a Head of State with a Handgun is also a good read. Much smaller and a limited topic but it gives a great flavour of the era. Specially since I heard that there is a espionage subsystem.
