In creating the history of my space marine chapter (Terra Knights) I was looking at the obvious differences in different 'ages' of Terminator armor. I know the normal Space Marine armor has different Mark versions, but does anyone have any idea's on terminator armor? Right now the 3 big ones I see are (1) The abysmal looking termi's included in the original set, the better ones released by GW way back when, and the new 'Larger' models currently in their boxed sets. Any feedback, suggestions, etc welcome.

The 4106 design was truly, truly awful, wasn't it? You can sort of see where they were going with the other two designs (which pre-dated Space Hulk by 6-12 months IIRC), but the 4106 was just horrid.

Good Lord! That's fantastic. Thank you very much, this is just what I needed to get started.
The 'A' looks like they crammed a alien grey into it. Man, how we have progressed...

BTW, where did you come across this collage?

But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you… And I will beat you.

I actually have the mini of variant A and B. If you need more pics for your project or so, feel free to let me know.
I'll have too look deep into some boxes at the attic but they're definitely there

Everyone always says how horrible the original terminators look. Honestly, they looked pretty decent. It's not that they're bad sculpts - it's just that the later terminators have all been such incredible improvements.

With a decent enough paintjob, the old figures can look good even today.

Thank you everyone, espically the links. Unfortunately the link to 'TERMI-NATION The definitive on-line guide to terminator armour', by John Blanche, doesn't work. Has anyone ever seen this or know where I can find a copy?

Variant B gives some idea why Terminator armour is also known as "Tactical Dreadnaught Armour", as this guy looks a lot like the old Imperial Dreadnaught.

If you could get some pics I'd be very grateful.

You can find other interesting sub-categories of terminator armours at this site (the Termi-Nation by John Blanche)
http://www.tearsofenvy.com/termi-nation/armour_home.htm
Click on each figure and you'll receive infos about differences between armours.
There's also the armory.

Weird, shows the link as broken, and even the google cached copy is sorta a mess.

I've just found my B and C variants, some primed well, others so so primed, most dusty. Anyone still interested in pictures? If so, I'll wash 'em and take some photos.

I'm pretty happy as I never had found the proof that they were terminators until tonight!

Also keep in mind I have just registered, so I'm going to look up the thread subscription feature (oh, I see it at the bottom)

I've uploaded samples of each variant that I've got (B's and C's). When I had the same one primed black and/or base-coated, I uploaded both. When I had duplicates of the exact same model and same color I didn't.

It is worth noting that I was bad about painting over existing paint, so all of these are going to get stripped and cleaned up before getting a real paint job!

Regards
