How similar is Steam to Empire Builder would you (all) say?
I haven't seen any comparisons at all, so i am thinking completely different.

I really didn't enjoy EB that much. I confuse the cargos, and tend to plan delivering to two spots on the same card. I also hate a lot of the special events.

Thanks,
jo

They are both connections games and in both you build track, but other than that they are totally different.

I enjoy(ed) Empire Builder, but I agree the event cards made me feel a loss of control and for what it was the game was too long. Steam, AoS and RRT all feel more streamlined.

And you won't have specfic cago deliverys to make.

They really feel nothing alike to me. I really don't like to play the EB games that much at all but I love AoS and Steam. Silverton is a good middle of the road game between the two and one I like playing more than any of them. I know I am in the minority there though.

I do that too with EB. It helps if you line up the cards (next to each other with a vertical shift of each card to match up the cards) according to order of delivery and type of good so that you don't have to remember what you are dropping off and where.

Poker and Chess are similar because they both have kings and queens.

Steam and Empire Builder are about that similar.
