I'm looking for game recommendations that you feel your wife and I will really enjoy playing together. After all, you've been with her a lot longer than I have.

We're starting to grow tired of candlelit dinners and long walks on the beach.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I highly recommend Cartegena.

Plays fast and simple, but does require strategy and thinking. Plays just as well with two players as with 3, 4, or 5 with no rules adjustments. Typical game is 30-40 minutes.

Fantastic, thanks! I'm glad it's just as good with two players because I haven't yet suggested adding a third or fourth, with the relationship being new and all.

No. But it's moot anyway, given that Chit Chat has already secretly taken over RSP. Just continue spreading the empire.

Emira might help you get her in the mood if you are thinking about going for that third or fourth...

Cheers

not Cartegena. Cheers.

Pretty much any game will do: She hates them all.

I don't want to hear any whining if she tries to rip off your head. That's just the sort of wacky thing she's liable to do.

Try giving her beer to mellow her out. She might let you off with a maiming.

My wife are in the midst of trying to get her Neverwinter Nights 2 uninstalled and then reinstalled so that she can properly update the game, with the end goal that I can join her in her quests to kill Githyankis.

She lost her CD key, and just as she was about to despair I came along and found it on her online bioware account, she just said I'm her hero.

She just said that if this doesn't work we can go and buy two xbox 360s and put this technical nightmare to an end.

Now I don't know if I want this to work...

Awesome! Since "wife" and "girlfriend" here at BGG mostly stand in for "non-gaming partner", I am freely and gleefully assuming that you are prepared to entertain my husband.

He really likes Ticket to Ride, and I will (again, freely and gleefully) send my copy of the game along with him. (My kids love to play, too . . . let's just call them "expansions", eh? Anyway, they'll bring their own booster seats . . . your ride seats at least 4, yes?)

He will be soooooo happy! Thank you!

Did this thread get moved or something? Since it is in RSP I feel like I should make the following pithy joke:

Naked Twister + a video camera == instant intertubes star!

Ok, I feel better. Now the serious answer.

I can tell you that of the few games my wife will still play, and seems to somewhat enjoy: Fjords and Carcassonne. I don't recall you talking about young 'uns but some light dexterity games might be fun - depending of course on what floats you wife's boat. Sorry! Sliders and Gulo Gulo are oft played at my house with da boy and his mum.
