According to Board Game News Matt Leacock has come up with a longer Late Bronze Age variant for this game. You can find more information and new score sheets here.

It also now has a game page: Roll Through the Ages: The Late Bronze Age

Since FRED just released a new version of Roll Through the Ages with better dice. It's too bad that they couldn't include these new rules as well. It sounds like it fixes some of the problems with the game ending too quickly.

I designed the base game to play quickly -- 30 minutes, in a pub -- and was (happily) surprised by the number of geeks who wanted more. I'm hoping the expansion helps scratch that itch for people.

So, don't think of it as a fix, but rather as a variant for experienced players who want more of a "gamer's game." The inclusion of the hyperlink (rather than a separate rule book and scorepad) was also intentional -- my aim was to me to keep the rules for the base game consistent, short, and accessible, while giving us geeks the chance to try something meatier.

Hope you enjoy it.

Hi Matt, any hope that Gryphon will print some score pads for the extended game? I'm sure they could sell a few at Essen.

Just print and laminate. Use a dry erase pen and you should be all set. No need for extra copies.

Will there be more variants to come?

I really enjoy the game, but different sets would be very interesting.

We'll see! The hard part is finding the time to design them.

I'm not sos sure the game needs any more. I think it is a good thing when a game doesn't evolve beyond a certain point. Bronze Age rectifies the short lived nature of the original, which lessened the game for many gamers. That's a good thing.

But at the end of the day the game is meant to be a short, engaging dice game. I don't see a game in that genre warranting a plethora of expansions.

I agree -- but I meant new Ages, not new variants.

A bit late to the party, but in case you were looking for responses to gauge interest in more, count me! I want a bookcase set where you can roll through all the ages, right into outer space Play all 5 games in half the time of TtA!
