Do they get the 2d6 in addtion to the firepower or is it just the firepower by itself?

2d6+firepower

Otherwise a german firepower 8 divebombing attack wouldn't be very effective since most russian units have defence 8 or higer.

I disagree, we thought FIREPOWER was played as an impulse by itself
not combined.
Maybe that's why our game was relatively bloodless.

Gordon, some cards are played as an impulse by themselves, like the heavy artillery.

Some cards are played as something that can be done in addition to the impulse, like Dive Bombing if I remember right.

We did add the firepower to the attack roll.

We did this correctly, I think.

Hoping to find a way for the Germans
to even come CLOSE to winning, i.e.:
1. ADDING those cards to a units attack strength and die roll,
2. Maybe if all enemy chits in an area are FLIPPED, there'd
be no extra move cost.
3. Germans of different colors can attack together,
etc.

attacking 6 + 2d6 vs 11 + 2d6 = nothing otherwise;
what are we missing?
