So I'm playing against glüglu a W19. I get a first turn mistress and they want to reset. I don't feel it's 100% win and quite often when my opponent gets a first turn mistress I can still win about 40% of the time. There is nothing sweeter than beating someone who gets a fist turn mistress in my opinion. I know is problem has been fixed in the expansion but the expansion isn't available on BSW.

Here's a copy of the chat log

glüglu: -»(¯`v´¯)-»Viel Spaß !- -»(¯`v´¯)-»good luck at all!(¯`v´¯)-»..und fairplay!
glüglu: gw
glüglu: reset
-- Info has been updated.
Canadian_Gamer: ply it out
Canadian_Gamer: play*
glüglu: no thank you
glüglu: have no chance
Canadian_Gamer: it's not a sure win
glüglu: it is
Canadian_Gamer: I can win 40% of the time my opponent gets a 1st turn mistress
glüglu: 18 in the first is to reset
-- Info has been updated.
glüglu: or not lay down
Canadian_Gamer: I like a challenge and enjoy playing it out
Canadian_Gamer: you can drop but I'll just report you to the fairness channel
glüglu: iff she comes not in the next round i net reset
Canadian_Gamer: it's poor sportsmanship to quit a game because of a bad start for you
glüglu: no it is not fair to play the 18
glüglu: in the first round
Canadian_Gamer: and they fixed that in the expansion
Meri Puppins geht wieder, VS beim Spielen.
glüglu: al person are reset it
glüglu: because no chance für the other
Canadian_Gamer: if you don't want to play then just keep passing so it ends faster
glüglu: ??
glüglu: i have write it bevor
-- You have entered channel Fairness:
glüglu: when you give me the 2/6 i had a simple chance
glüglu: but now not
glüglu: iff you take the other 18 i reset
glüglu: or now
glüglu: what shell we do
glüglu: huhu
Rudi_Rammler verdichtet sich aus einer Wolke glitzernder Partikel.
Canadian_Gamer: finish the game
Landvogt Rudi_Rammler: hallo
-- Info has been updated.
Canadian_Gamer: I would play it out and still try to win. clearly they don't like a challenge
glüglu: und es dann immer resetet wird
Landvogt Rudi_Rammler: mom
Canadian_Gamer: if you don't like the rules of the game then why even play
Canadian_Gamer: I'm writing a thread on boardgamegeek about how you are a bad player
Landvogt Rudi_Rammler: also in dem ersten zug
glüglu: was soll das
Landvogt Rudi_Rammler: meinte er
glüglu: ich wollte diret reset
glüglu: er wollte warten
glüglu: und nu ist schluß
Canadian_Gamer: thank you for wasting my time we could have finished the game and started another by now
Canadian_Gamer: and if you got the 18 I would have played it out to try and beat you
glüglu: das ist ganz klar
Landvogt Rudi_Rammler: er sagte er hätte keine absprache gehabt
Canadian_Gamer: there is nothing sweeter than beating someone who gets a 1st turn 18
Landvogt Rudi_Rammler: canadian - so is it right - teh deal reset by playing the 18 ?
glüglu: was üblich ist
Landvogt Rudi_Rammler: dann spiel bitte fertig
Landvogt Rudi_Rammler: ok

Why not in the future just let him reset. Be the bigger man.

I think I would have just let the reset happen too.
It just wouldn't have been worth all that drama to me.

No experience with BSW... How does resetting work? Does it start a new game immediately? If it was possible, I'd "reset" but leave before the new game started and look for another opponent.

I wonder if people ask for a reset if there is a 1st turn observatory or judge or a lucky village/bank combo.

Knowing me, after pleading to just continue, I'd reset, but be a jerk in the next game asking for a reset every time he bought a card because it wasn't the card I wanted him to buy. Probably the wrong way to go about it though.

Just another reason why I'll only use BSW to play another people I know or people they recommend.

It is ridiculous that anyone would quit on turn 1, but I wouldn't have bothered typing more than a sentence or two to him. I would have just reset and found someone else to play with.

I agree that this dude shouldn't even be playing the game if he thinks it is broken.

Between 2 experienced St. Pete players it is very difficult to win against the Mistress but it is possible and fun to try. Anything could happen throughout the game that could change this winning course. We always play with the expansions now so the new adjusted Mistress is not a problem.

However, I do agree with you that the game should have been played out. There is no way that we would ever restart a game just because one player didn't like the starting conditions. I would not have restarted the game, so I'm on your side here.

This is one of the reasons I hate playing in BSW. People do things that they would never do in real life. Things like this, the way people get upset if you take "too long" in their opinion to think, the anger I've faced from mis-clicking something or screwing up the interface.

I've had a few truly rotten situations there, and don't go back. It's not worth it.

If this happened in the real world, it would be a very different situation.

There are several things I think about here:
- Players aren't face to face, so they say things that they wouldn't say face-to-face.

- Games are logged, so it matters who wins. Therefore, it was important to you to log the game appropriately (and to report to the fairness channel). If the result of the game didn't matter (like in the real world,) then he could have conceded the game.

- I'm not sure why he's playing the game. The game can create a situation, and he's only wanting to play in a certain gameplay situation.

- I'm not sure why you'd want to pursue playing, as it was clear that it wouldn't be a fun game experience.

Sigh. It's too bad that this site brings out this bad side in people.

Say what you want, but in a game situation where there seems to be some debate between the community (I have not played the game so I will not be entering in this, but from what I've read here, It seems to be an issue that was addressed in the xp) coming out with this is really arrogant and lowest level, and makes me doubt who the childish one is here ...

Oh well, you find people of all attitudes on BSW I guess

Just let him abandon the game. It will reflect badly on his stats AND you can report him.

It's annoying to have to lose the time, but HE is the one that will lose on two fronts.

That is why I prefer Yucata.de. Games are also logged there, you earn points and climb through the ranks but Sparhawk doesn't take all this crap. Firstly, you can only offer a draw or concede on Yucata (no concept of 'Reset') and secondly, a while back too many higher ranks started refusing to play the lower ranks, so everybody got reset to the lowest rank. Somehow, I don't think that will happen again.

In the German text he's saying that before the game you two agreed to reset if there's a first turn mistress. That part of the chatlog is not there, so it is hard to judge.

What I think happened (as in total speculation) is that he said this in abreviated form either in chat or in gameyell and you missed that. If he did not say this before the game than he's obviously a total clown.

I wouldn't reset, but I wouldn't make a big fuss over it either. If he wants to quit/resign, I'd just move on to another opponent, and put him on my "bad" list so I never play with him again.

I do think BSW should have "resign" option for people who don't want to play the game out but want to overcome all of the whinging about statistics that otherwise ensues.

Yes It should be auto resign if you don't return to a table to. I'v seen ppl just leave cos they made mistakes, or not sure how to play..

Well, the Mediator DID keep asking if you had an agreement, and you didn't reply. I realize it's difficult if you don't speak German, but there are Mediators who speak English as well.

Did he set up the game or did you? And is it possible Ricco is right, and he said something before the game about resetting for the mistress? I can understand wanting to play it out, but the person who sets up the game is generally allowed to set any house rules; if you don't agree with them, you can choose not to play with that person.

I very seldom have trouble with other players on BSW, but I find communication, or at least trying to communicate, is key.

I can't believe there is this much drama over some whiner. There are actually people on BSW and mediate these sort of "disputes"? It wasn't a tournament game or anything! Just some whiner trying to play by his own rules instead of the rules of the game.

This chat log clearly shows that glüglu assumed that the game will be reset if the 18 is played on first round (like a silent, unspoken global agreement on BSW) and he DID NOT agree upon this with Canadian_Gamer. He thought Canadian_Gamer would know of this "super holy silent agreement of BSW".

This glüglu is one damn lame whiner as many are on BSW. This is why I've left this place years ago. I won't ever log in again there unless some good friends of mine ask me to play a game with just them.

Oh, and I wouldn't bother discussion with this idotic whiner. My time and nerves are too precious to lose them for some BullShitWhiners.

What they should do on BSW is reset the ranking of such idiots once they behave idiotic. LOL, this would be some good lesson to them...
