Say there already a wooden ship available for building/building at the end of the round. Another wooden ship is now available.

a. Does this ship go on top of the other (meaning that the higher value ship can be built first)
b. Does this ship go on the bottom of the other (meaning the lower value ship can be built first)
c. The order doesn't matter, any ship can be built from the available ships
d. The ship is discarded.

The new ship goes on top of the older ship, and only the top ship of any pile can be built.

That's why the varying value of all the ships in the game. It's usually better point-wise to wait for ships, except the luxury liner, which actually decreases in value from one to the next.
