I have good reasons! Not just because a plane ticket from Missoula to Las Vegas is $65 whereas Missoula to Dallas is $519. I also did a cost benefit analysis. It looked something like this.

You can clearly see that Vegas has more benefits and less costs than Dallas.

Oh and I know its too late for this year, this would start in 2010.

That's a very convincing graph! It looks like it pretty much covers everything.

It's fun, it's healthy, it's good exercise. The kids will just love it. And we put a little sand inside to make the experience more pleasant.

You know, they say there was a man who jumped from the forty-FIFTH floor? But that's another story...

I would agree... without that graph, I would not support this idea.

Plane tickets, however, are much cheaper to Las Vegas though.

I live in the DFW area so I'm obviously biased, but I would support a Vegas BGGCON in the future. I will save money this year on a hotel, but probably lose gaming time because I'll still be around town with around town stuff to do. It's nice to go on vacation proper.

I've done... questionable things in Vegas. Nothing the God of biomechanics wouldn't let me into heaven for, but Vegas is not an option.

I support this idea wholeheartedly. I mean, he's got a graph for God's sake! I mean, over 750 benefits for less than half the costs?! That's amazing value.

Except in Vegas, I'd spend less time gaming, and more time gaming.

Err. yeah, that's right.

So are you trying to convince us to vote for Vegas or against, with this argument?

Orlando, Florida
College Station, TX * (I am willing to volunteer to help organize if this is chosen and I'm even willing to offer Aldie my spare room)
El Paso, TX
Beaumont, TX
Austin, TX
Marathon, Florida

Agreed... Vegas is a city for conventions and it is inexpensive in air fare and lodging. Besides, is there any other reason to go to Dallas besides BGG.CON???

I tell you what. I'd agree to move BGG.CON to Las Vegas, if the powers that be move the WBC to Texas.

Deal?

While this would not be my reason(s), I'm somewhat surprised given your other posts that this would not make your list :

Actually, Vegas is a great idea. While my family would not likely be convinced to travel to Texas for a vacation which would consist of me playing boardgames (and possibly my wife - she does play some), a trip to Vegas would get everyone into it, and I could play boardgames all day while my wife gambles away our....er, ....uhm,

...Vegas is an awful idea!

In all seriousness, Vegas would be great because my family could have a great time while I'm gaming. The flights and hotel rooms would also be a lot cheaper, and there would be no issues regarding finding good eats. The problem I'm sure would be how to transport the game library to Vegas! If the logistical problems could be overcome, I think this would be a winner! Another option would be Orlando, FL again because of the cheap flights, cheap rooms, and plenty of stuff for the families to do if they don't game. The potential gambling concern would also be eliminated. However, the game trasport issue would remain.

Oh, yeah... every big city has some sort of gallery / museum that I'd want to check out... always the first thing I search for when planning a trip.

I lived in Texas in San Antonio. I also have a work in an exhibit in Arlington, I'd love to see that museum... I've never been to Austin but I'd stop there if I was traveling nearby. I just don't see the big cities of Texas to be very appealing... BGG.CON should consider a move... I vote San Fran, NYC or Vegas.
