Where is the exact link to get what is needed to run a jar executable? Knowing that it is some kind of Java is not enough.

jar files usually must be embedded into a web page which is then opened by a browser.

Dave, you need a JRE (Java Runtime Environment):

https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/CDS-CDS_De...

Pick your OS and language...

If you've already got a working JRE (you need version 1.6!!!), just double-click the JAR file to start the game. If your OS doesn't support opening files by double-click or at least doesn't run a JAR file this way, you can always start the game in the terminal window by the command "java -jar JLeHavre.jar".
