It's definitely an atypical pairing, and yet I would eat it.

Sour cream-based dips tend to go better with potato chips. Cheese and salsa for tortilla chips.

I was with you on Hint of Lime tortilla chips, but you lost me when you got to the Bleu Cheese dip. So I'm a nay. Can I just have my lime chips with regular salsa please?

I have no doubt that I'd eat that pairing and enjoy it--I like all sorts of combos like that which sound bad at first. I wonder if it would do something cool like that cement mixer cocktail, that forms such a miserable scum in your mouth when you drink it.

Turns out that the Hint of Lime changes the experience from "exquisite" to "vile". Blech!

Pringles cans are Yay! They force portion discipline through their design. Or they force you to eat like a swine. Either way, it's a winner.

I'd definitely try it, but I'm not sure it would work.

I once took several cans of Pringles to a community picnic and people FREAKED OUT. It was like I'd brought the food equivalent of really high-quality cocaine. The Pringles were gone in minutes, while all the nice homemade stuff like potato salad was sitting there completely unloved.

Are you kidding me? Send me a bag. It's been a while since I've posted a WHAT YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN'T EAT thread.

Yay as in WOO HOO! MY HAND IS IN THE PRINGLES CAN! sort of way, or YES, IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME, AND I HAVE WORN IT LIKE A CONE OF SHAME sort of way? Because if it's the latter, I think it should read "Yea."

Asking this in Chit Chat proves that statistical results will always be invalid.

I don't really know how to answer this, because "Licking" doesn't really cover this process. It's more like licking, sucking, scraping with teeth, etc. In fact, now that I think about it, that process alone should tell me not to eat Cheetos.

For me, it's not the "Hint of Lime" that does it - it's the Bleu Cheese that does it. I like the lime chips. The thought of intentionally eating moldy cheese is what made me say "you would have to pay me pretty well to eat that crap"

I like lime chips and I like bleu cheese -- but not together. There is a time and place for each of them, and "at the same time" is not it.

That would be like saying "I like garlic and I like tira misu, so they must be great together" or "I like barbeque and I like pizza, so a barbecue pizza would be the best way to consume both". gulp

For my blue cheese fix it is crostini toasted with garlic, olive oil, lemon and herbs:

With some Maytag blue spread on it (one of the best US cheeses... not a lot of blue veins, some chunks are all white... a salty taste not as pungent as most blue cheeses):

Maybe a little pomegranate balsamic drizzled on top:

I don't trust anything labeled "blue (or bleu) cheese" that is not in solid form.

I think it's subject to interpretation by each individual respondent. I don't remember what I had in mind when I created the poll, so we'll never know the real intent.

You should ask it in RSP and compare the results

Hmmm, yeah, but good luck remembering that next time someone puts a bag of cheetos in front of you.

I vote "Nay", simply because the can has the misfortune to contain Pringles. Let's hear it for pre-formed cardboard snacks!

I think we need a thread where we each post our dinners and vote.
Poll: Yay or nay?
This was my dinner last night.
A single reheated pasta shell stuffed with ricotta and spinach. A carrot. A slice of ciabatta with butter and honey. A slice of watermelon (leftover from the 4th). Two glasses of wine from a $5 bottle.

Summary: I had leftovers with cheap wine.
