I was going to mention that I can see the Rocky Mountains from just outside my apartment. Oh, that's right John Denver sang about them.

You should have asked me when I still lived in Tacoma. Paramus, maybe?
Paramoose, paramoose, will you do the fandango?

There are plenty of country songs that refer to Dallas or Fort Worth. Closest rock might be Come back to Texas by Bowling for Soup which refers to Denton County which is just up the road from here.

My car has dashboard lights. I'm not sure if paradise is in there, though. I'll have to check the owners manual.

OK. I live in Chula Vista, CA, which is just south of San Diego.

From northern CA on down south:

Diesel Sausolito Summer Nights (a little too north, but I love the song)

Eagles Hotel California (generic)

Randy Newman I love LA (Lots of LA landmarks)

Mamas and Papas California Dreamin' (generic, although it mentions LA)

Bruce Springsteen Balboa Park (probably the most specific)

Beach Boys Insert favorite Beach Boy tune here.
(At least half of the songs they ever sang mention one or another of the beaches between here and LA.)

While another has some "gal" from there, as in this 'tune': laugh

It WERE an actual "Rock Landmark" for this! Sorry if I spoiled your "joke"! We also have as the 'motto' on our "Welcome to Aberdeen" signage with "Come as you are"! whistle

Certainly San Francisco. I'll probably have to go with that, since you said "famous". If "not so famous" is OK, then I'd say Altamont, referenced in Blue Oyster Cult's "Transmaniacon MC" (and possibly others, since the events themselves at Altamont became pretty famous).

It is a giant rock that is also a landmark...not a rock song named after a landmark.

Now, laughter may ensue.

You know, once you explained it, I laughed. Success!

(I really did laugh, although as much over so much effort over a lame joke, as for the joke itself.)

My favorite answer to this question used to be "Albany NY" by Blotto.

I imagine there are several lame songs about Portland out there, so put me down for "13 miles".

I live a few hundred meters from Kronenburg Park, the famous song by the international superstar Frank Boeijen.

Ok, maybe not that international. But he is famous here. Also, the park is really named Kronenburgerpark; apparently Frank didn't do his homework.
