The folks at Queen tell me that they will include more of the neat little wooden Locomotives for this expansion. It is being produced in Germany and follows their 'green' game philosophy!

Maybe I missed another message, but will Queen put this and Erie in the same expansion, to be released at Spiel this year?

Either way is good news, Chicago Express has become one of my fav games!

Excellent, excited for expansions; the base game is *far* from dull yet, but nice to spice it up now and then

And spice it up it does. I haven't played the Narrow Gauge expansion but the Erie is awesome!

The Erie railroad is small at first glance, but is a major impact to the game. It's especially good with 4.

Thanks for the update. What is this philosophy? Sustainable materials?

Think of it as merely another adjunct to the great goal of Spiele: The Great German Deforestation Project!

Is this an acknowledgment that there is something wrong with plastic locos?

Pretty much. During my visits to Queen Games, I have been impressed with their Green approach. I also saw that they personally drive fuel efficient cars, recycle all sorts of stuff and generally enjoy a tiny carbon footprint. They are a very eco-minded modern German game company. The nifty wooden locomotives cost them more money, but they are willing to go the whole 9 yards.
