Gentlemen (and lady), start your engines!

We are ready to start this race - overdue actually. The Race Managers are in a huddle discussing something; we aren't sure what. They are gesturing to the Lucky 69ers white and red cars and seem quite agitated. Wait a minute! I see the problem! Apparently the two cars currently HAVE NO DRIVERS! What are these cars even doing on the track?! Well, the Race Manager and Race Officials have apparently come to some sort of agreement, because there are people scurrying to their places including the Starting Flagmaster. This race is about to begin, sans one entire team!

The cars are now being started... and there's the flag, and they're off! Oh, and Katya Pystyn's car has stalled off the line! She's still in better shape than Onara Atama and Dusty Carr, however! At least she is in her car!

Stan Still is the first car over the starting line. And there is some major rubbing as the racers jockey for position coming over the starting line behind Stan Still. 4 cars, all within inches of each other. No damage to anyone however!

(Some of ) The cars jockey for second place

Ladies and gentlemen! The two drivers from the Lucky 69ers have arrived! They are running across the track in front of some of the other cars and are leaping into their cars and starting their engines. Oh, we will definitely need an explanation of what happened with these guys after the race!

Coming out of Turn One it's Ferrocio Machiavelli in first place, followed by Stan Still and in third it's Mario Confetti.
Now coming out of the second turn it’s Stan Still in the lead with Ferrocio Machiavelli in second place about 7 car lengths behind. In third place is Stan Still’s partner Ja Po Fok about 3 car lengths behind Ferrocio Machiavelli.
And Dusty Carr is shifting and going faster every minute – he should be over the starting line shortly!
Stan Still is extending his lead and heading into Turn Four while Ferrocio Machiavelli is just coming out of Turn Three about 20 car lengths behind while teammate Katya Pystyn and Ja Po Fok try to maneuver into third.

Stan Still is in the lead and into Turn Four.

And in Turn Four, Katya Pystyn’s car is rubbed and her car has lost a piece of her fender. What out for that, everyone!
Oh! Willie Survive, winner of last week’s race, is moving too quickly into Turn Five and is blocked completely by the other drivers. He has to gear down HARRRD and still almost skids into the back of Ferrocio Machiavelli’s car. Oh, and he has geared down so far that he doesn’t even make the corner!
Coming out of Turn Five, heading into Turn Six it’s Stan Still followed by his teammate Ja Po Fok 12 car lengths behind and Katya Pystyn is in third directly behind Ja Po Fok and she is followed very closely by her teammate Ferrocio Machiavelli.
And in Turn Six it is Stan Still followed 4 car lengths behind by Katya Pystyn, narrowing the gap. Right behind her is Ferrocio Machiavelli and right behind him is Ja Po Fok in fourth place.
And Onara Atama is unable to avoid the piece of fender from Katya Pystyn’s car back in Turn Five and has dropped some debris on his own, apparently damaging the undercarriage of his car.

Stan Still in the lead in Turn Six and the rest of the pack is not far behind (except for Dusty Carr (not shown).

And in Turn Seven Stan Still is still in the lead, but Ferrocio Machiavelli is giving him a lot of pressure, however Ferrocio Machiavelli has really pushing the engine of his Lamborghini hard this race, and we think he may be having some trouble. We aren’t sure what is going to happen. Katya Pystyn is about 10 car lengths behind the leaders.

Oh no! In a slipstream maneuver, Goggle Pizzano in Turn Six has bumped Mario Confetti’s car and he loses a piece of the front end, making him lose control and he has slammed him into the wall in Turn Six! The car has disintegrated folks! Mario Confetti is NOT getting out of the demolished vehicle. Medical personnel are rushing to the scene. We hope Mario Confetti will be all right!

Mario Confetti’s car has crashed!.

Stan Still has over-revved his engine and we’re seeing some magic smoke coming from it. The car doesn’t seem to be slowing down, so he must still be OK. We’re worried about Ferrocio Machiavelli – he’s treating his engine really roughly…but he is OK!

Some news on Mario Confetti – he is badly injured but expected to recover. Temporary Race Manager Mike Becker has announced that Mario Confetti will likely not be racing next month, and a replacement driver is already being discussed.

Stan Still and Ferrocio Machiavelli have both taken a pit stop and are into Lap 2. Stan Still is in Turn One and 3 car lengths behind is Willie Survive, blasting past the pits and choosing not to tweak his car. He is followed 5 car lengths by Ferrocio Machiavelli. Wait! Ja Po Fok has also chosen not to pit and has moved into third place, squeezing out Ferrocio Machiavelli.

The Marx Brothers’ Race Managers Dana and Greg pondering possible pitstops and the perils of passing.

Goggle Pizzano has decided to pit.

Heading into Turn Two on Lap Two, Willie Survive has over-revved his engine and damaged it. Ja Po Fok has also over-revved his engine and left an oil slick on the track in Turn Number Two. He is currently in first place.
After Turn Two it is Ja Po Fok in first followed 2 car length by his partner Stan Still and 2 car lengths behind Stan Still is Willie Survive, last month’s winner of the Bixby Formula De league race.
Now coming out of Turn Three, it is still Ja Po Fok in the lead followed 10 car lengths behind by Ferrocio Machiavelli and Stan Still is making Ferrocio Machiavelli work to keep his placement, directly beside him, matching his front tire to Ferrocio Machiavelli’s rear tire. Willie Survive, who looked very strong just a few moments ago, is falling behind. He’s in fourth.

Coming into Turn Four, it is Ja Po Fok still in the lead. About 8 car lengths behind him is Stan Still in second, but Ferrocio Machiavelli is not giving up and is right beside him. About 5 car lengths behind the second and third place holders is Willie Survive. We just want to mention him because, well, he paid us to. Ferrocio Machiavelli runs over two separate pieces of debris and both times does some damage to his car. Hopefully he can finish this race with that damaged car that he barely got into the pits after a difficult first lap.

Coming out of Turn Four and heading into Turn Five, the race remains close. Ja Po Fok is in first, Ferrocio Machiavelli is 7 car lengths behind but Stan Still is right there, not letting the Italian rest. Willie Survive is not out of it yet, he is in fourth position 6 car lengths behind second and third.

And Stan Still has rubbed against Ferrocio Machiavelli and done some damage to the Italian’s car. This car is not looking good, but Ferrocio Machiavelli is still in the race.

Willie Survive has over-revved his engine again. He is really pushing that machine hard!

Ja Po Fok is still in the lead, with Willie Survive and Ferrocio Machiavelli are tied for second place, with Stan Still threatening their position directly behind them.

The drivers are pushing these engine hard on this track. Willie Survive is pushing his car too hard – uh oh! I was right! His engine has suddenly started smoking badly and I think I can see a valve cover on the track! Yes, Willie has blown his engine and he is out of the race! What a horrible break for the Road Warriors!

Willie Survive has now had two DNFs this season. Last season he finished every race and his motto was, “You don’t have to always finish first to be the best driver. But you have to always finish.” We aren’t sure what this season’s motto would be.

Coming out of Turn Six Ja Po Fok definitely has the lead. Back in Turn Five his partner Stan Still in second place and he is leading Ferrocio Machiavelli by 2 car lengths. Willie Survive used to be in fourth, but now his car is being liberally doused with fire retardant foam while Willie walks off to talk with his team. It is very sad.

Goggle Pizzano is heading over some debris and has dropped a little debris of his own. The track is getting treacherous, but not nearly like the first two races this season.

Coming out of the final turn (Turn Six) Ja Po Fok has a commanding led on the rest of the pack, about 27 car lengths. It looks like he’s got this one sewn up, despite the fact that he has had some engine trouble and is really babying this engine in the last few turns. Stan Still is in second place and Ferrocio Machiavelli is 2 car lengths behind him in third.

Whoa! Ferrocio Machiavelli has dropped his car into 5th gear and smoked past Stan Still and is heading for the finish line. Stan Still is now 10 car lengths behind Ferrocio Machiavelli.

Holy smokes, folks! Ferrocio Machiavelli is really moving now, coming out of Turn Six and passing Ja Po Fok. Ja Po Fok is now in second place and Stan Still is holding third.

Cal Naughton and Goggles Pizzano have both over-revved their engines, but those sturdy Skoda engines can handle this sort of abuse. Maybe The Road Warriors mechanics should have a chat with Shake and Bake’s mechanics!

Ferrocio Machiavelli blast across the finish line to take FIRST place.

Ja Po Fok doesn’t blast, but he comes across in SECOND place..

Cal Naughton takes THIRD.

Goggles Pizzano comes in FOURTH.

Stan Still, who DOMINATED this race through the first lap and was a contender for second all through the second lap, comes in FIFTH.

Katya Pystyn takes SIXTH.

Onara Atama takes SEVENTH.

Dusty Carr has taken EIGHTH.

Special mention to the team that does everything together, including DNFing.

And the clean-up crew has reported only 23 pieces of debris on the track this time. Not a record for this group of racers this season, but still quite a few.

Team standings:

Team Shake and Bake (Ricky Bobby, Cal Naughton and Goggles Pizzano) are in first place with 42 points.

The Marx Brothers (Stan Still and Ja Po Fok) are in second place as a team with 38 points.

The Rushin’ Mafia (Kayta Pystn and Ferrocio Machiavelli) are third with 31 points.

The Road Warriors (Mario Confetti and Willie Survive) still have 21 points as a team.

The Lucky 69ers (Dusty Carr and Onara Atama) have 18 points.

The Road Warriors have announced that Jack Newton will be racing for the injured Mario Confetti in the next race.

Excellent. I like the explosion markers and the custom player cards. Looks like a fun league.
