This and other kid show-themed dry-erase boards are 1$ in the bargain-bin at my local Target store. They're 8 x 11.5", with a removable hanger string.
(This one has a hologram pattern.) The back is plain, shiny white. They're 3.6 mm thick and made of a grey cardstock laminate (like Carcassonne tiles), and they cut beautifully with a heavy-duty X-acto knife (it took five+ swipes but looks machine-cut!) After I started cutting apart my strips of tiles, the top layer of the laminate started to peel off in places, but I just glued it back on with some Elmer's glue.
