The Schmidt version of this game has a different mix of cards, and also offers a scoring variation:

If at anytime during the game a player spots his Tikis in exactly the right order needed for perfect score (#1 in the #1 spot, #2 in the #2 spot and #3 in the #3 spot), he has the option to call out "Tiki Tiki" and take himself out of the game at this point but score 10 points.

He is eliminated from this round by "cashing in" for 10 points. If, instead, he risked playing to the end of the "normal" game, a full perfect score would mean 9 +5 +2 = 16 points.

I haven't tried this with the Gamewright game yet, but it might make for some interesting gameplay, especially for 3-4 players.

We added this variant tonight and my wife got a "tiki tiki" for 10 points. Playing the regular way, she would have only scored 2 points as the board changed before the end of the round.

The variant is a nice addition that doesn't slow down the game.

Would the person that called it... continue to play their cards? I'm guessing yes in the 2-player game.

Not according to the rules:

He is eliminated from this round by "cashing in" for 10 points.

So that's part of the risk, especially in a two player game, is that you leave the other(s) to use their cards to their best advantage without further interference from you. They try to do the best they can with what they have left, while you sit and watch (but score 10 points for your "Tiki Tiki").

This variant appears to have been removed from the Schmidt version of the game.

They also fixed the incorrect card mix issue mentioned in another thread.
