i figured as much. I just had my doubts because it seems neo jungle is REALLY effected by nets. I am playing a solitaire game Neo vs Borgo, i am kicking my ass with well placed net fighters that keep shutting down my mother land.
If a unit is netted, then its power stops working. The HQ is still a unit that has a power. If a regular unit is netted, then it is still part of the motherland (though otherwise useless), but the Neojungle HQ is the only thing causing the modules' powers to spread. That's why in the Neojungle strategy tips in the rulebook, it suggests that the player "protect all occupied places around the HQ so the enemy cannot put a Net Fighter there."
To me, this is another example of how frustratingly easy it seems to be to rob Neo Jungle of their only potential power: the Motherland. It takes some skill and some luck to be able to create an effective motherland to begin with, and then all it takes is a quick snipe or a shove and a net, and it's all for nothing. Sigh.
Is there another thread complaining about the weaknesses of NJ? I could go there instead.
