in acquiring the wits & wagers that i now own, i took the statement "1st edition" to mean that the neoprene mousepaddy gameboard was included. is this not a correct assumption?

the box i got came with the cheap, felt gameboard. would this by definition not make it the 1st edition, or am i mistaken? can't seem to find an answer searching on this site..

the game is awesome enough that i don't really care. but i would like to know if i was wrong to assume that i was getting the mousepad version.

The first print run was done by Eagle Games. It has the giant mouse pad game board and was supposed to retail for $45. They reduced the price at the last minute because it seemed like people would not spend $45 for a party game.

When Eagle Games went bankrupt and we took over the operations, there was about 3 months where we had no inventory. We wanted to come out with the 2nd print run immediately, but it would have pushed pack the arrival of product by another 4 months or so. So we did one more print run with the first edition graphics but with a felt mat in order to keep the cost at a reasonable level.

So in short, there are 10,000 units of the 1st edition with the mouse pad and 11,950 units of the 1st edition with the felt mat. If we hadn't been scrambling around to try to save the company, we would have had the time to change the packaging to reflect the change in components. Anyhow, I'm sorry for the confusion.

Dom,

Is there any way to tell if the Eagle games packaging has the mousepad mat inside? I have two sealed copies of the "original" box but is there any way I can tell which mat is inside short of opening it up?
