The warlord may not build but instead of destroying a district, he occupies it.

Select a district, pay the full price to the owner and place the card in your citadel. You may not occupy districts from the bishop (unless killed) or from a closed citadel.

Sounds like a nice variant -- I like that it costs the full amount, not one less (as with the usual Warlord).

It's a mix of diplomat (paying the owner) and warlord (removing a district).

I haven't tested it but I can see how the pile of gold will attract the thief, which is good :-)

The warlord's final position means that the victim will not be able to spend the gold this turn and will have to cope with greedy thieves nnext turn. The warlord's last position has finally a meaning.

Of course, this makes the graveyard useless (it was already useless, anyway).
