Love Power Grid and all its expansions, last four years we have gotten one.

'05 France/Italy
'06 Benelux/Central Europe
'07 Power Plant Deck 2
'08 Korea/China and Flux Generator

So anyone hear any rumors on a '09 expansion? Here's to hoping!

Keen observation. Perhaps a South America map?

Well there's always Power Grid: Factory Manager, but that's more of a spin-off than an expansion. I thought the ENBW map was going to be released separately.

We could certainly stand to have EBNW and Canada published as an expansion.

I would prefer, however, new boards with new special rules.

Like a California map with bonuses for environmental plants.

If you're referring to Quebec...well, I frankly hope it doesn't happen, since I bought Megawatts not long ago!

However, I would love to see EnBW and something else--maybe Australia, or Japan, or England. Heck, anything really!

I'll be at the World Boardgaming Championships this week and I'll ask Jay Tummelson if there is anything new and exciting for PowerGrid.

There was also this image,

that was posted yesterday, and is of similar image quality to the early China/Korea board leak from a few years ago.

Don't know if that further enlightens, obscures, or is irrelevant to the discussion....

The website looks like a photo blog, more like fan map.
After comparing map on google, this map doesn't look like Iberia, more like SE china.

Edit:
There is a pre-order for Brazil/Iberia out there.

I see that the expansion is now listed on the RGG site. http://www.riograndegames.com/games.html?id=337

Costs an extra $10, because it comes in a boxshake

Dunno how I feel about that. I have both Power Grid and Megawatts--I store all the maps in the PG box, along with their rulebooks, and all the rest of the bits go in the Megawatts box. Adding another box would be okay, but only if it's a tiny bit larger than the current PG box--since, as it stands, I'm pretty well at the max for what it can hold, map-wise.

Of course, being a sucker for Power Grid, I'll buy it anyway.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Up til now the expansion maps and cards have been automatic buys for me, all under $10 at the online discounters... but this is going to be about $16... I know the rich folks out there will say it's "only" an extra $6 and you get a box, but it's $6 for a box I don't want or need!

That turns this pair of maps into a try before buy now

Of course. If I put a dime in my expansion budget every time I played Power Grid, I would still have plenty money in that fund. At this point I am ready to pay at least $10 for a third plant deck. In fact I would like to get a duplicate of the original deck, so that I can build a custom deck and still have the original ready to go.

And I have been thinking lately that I need a second box. wow I currently travel with two boards inside the box, and two (soon three) outside. So an official box for storing expansions isn't beyond reason.

Heck...if I put a dime in a jar every time I wanted to play Power Grid, but didn't, I'd have a jar full of dimes.

(I no longer have a proper game group, and my wife won't play Power Grid with me. Weep for me!)

Certainly understandable, but with all the maps they've come out with, there really is a need for a box to put them in (even if it's unofficial). Bundling it with an expansion is the most sensible way of offering it.

Yeah, I'm digging the idea of a box. The PG box we have is a bit battered from housing all of the maps and thus being overstacked.

I'm another vote in favour of the box. My original box has long passed full-to-bursting.
