From what I have gathered, you need 5 treehouse sets, such as found here:
http://fairplaygames.com/gamedisplay.asp?gameid=4056
5x8=$40.

Then you just need to find markers of white, black, and any other colors? Besides for the game Go, does anyone have any suggestions?

Then use the online resources such as www.koryheath.com/games/zendo and www.playagaingames.com/games/zendo_some_rules .

Is there anything else?

The following thread confused me:
http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/226538

"fairplaygames.com has orange, purple, and white, each for $6.95"

There is talk of different sizes and the packs he mentions are of 15... how many and in what sizes come in the regular treehouse rainbow tubes?

Very confusing.

Also, do you find the Playing with Pyramids book for rules on 12 games any good? http://store.looneylabs.com/playing-with-pyramids

There are two Treehouse sets. Rainbow and Xeno. They each have a small, medium and large of five different colors. This

is probably referring to how the game used to be sold. Originally, they were sold in individual colors stashes or five each of small, medium and large in one color.

You can see the colors on the Treehouse page.

You can find bags of colored gems at hobby stores such as "Michael's", and often in more general stores like Walmart. Most people use these colored stones to put in fish tanks or in flower vases, but you can use them as markers. A bag of colored gems is usually only $2-3. Black and white ones can be hard to find, so I currently use white and dark purple ones.

I prefer to use something other than stones for guessing tokens. Use whatever -- I use a bunch of gold metal nuts (likes 'nuts & bolts' nuts).

Both the Treehouse stacks and the Icehouse stacks come in 15's (5 smalls, 5 mediums, and 5 larges). The difference is that the (old, original) Icehouse stacks are 15 of all one color. The Treehouse ones contain 5 different colors (3 of each color, one small, one medium, one big).

I use the contents of "IceTowers" -- comes with many pyramids... enough to play Zendo with.

I also have a home-made Zendo set I made that used Legos instead of pyramids. Works great!

5 "Rainbow" Treehouse sets give you 5 stashes of yellow, blue, red and green - exactly the same as shipped with the original Zendo.

Gaming stones can be found at most game/hobby stores, sold by Chessex and other dice companies. You can get them at Thought Hammer or many other sources online. Google "Gaming Stones". Black, white and green are the colors shipped with the original Zendo.

You can still buy the original deck of Zendo Cards from Looney Labs the last time I looked, though they're not really needed.

Complete rules and more can be found at the designer's website:

It's bloody awesome. It's listed in the database here, so you can see if anybody agrees with me: Playing With Pyramids
