Begin Rant
They had to make room for their NASTY new boneless wings - to be fair, I've only tried the "Bold Buffalo." I will not be trying either of the other two. Blecch!

I wouldn't say I'm a wing connoisseur, but I certainly know my way around a basket of buffalo style drumsticks and thighs - Not to put too fine a point on it, the Wendy's interpretation is f@%king gross.

Ah, but what did I expect from a fast food joint? Well, not a lot. And that should give you an idea of just how bad these things are.
End Rant

That said, I've never had the Baconator either... I haven't had any fast food in a couple months, with one notable exception - the above "chicken."

Anyway, I'm sorry for your loss.

Wendy's gave you back a day of your life by dropping this menu item. Admittedly, it's a day at the end of your life, when quality of life will be compromised by the infirmities of age, not to mention the complete collapse of the planetary ecosystem. But a day nonetheless.

If you're near a Five Guys Burgers and Fries, you should just go there.

If you're not near a Five Guys Burgers and Fries, you should move.

Ugh. After hearing raves for FGB, I made it a point to visit them. I walked in and ordered a medium rare cheeseburger. They told me that they would only cook to well done ("but it was still juicy"). I promptly ran towards the exit!

Oi! Aren't you supposed to be on a diet?*

And you know what's really sad? The Wendy's boneless wings are still better than KFC. Heck, the deli at the grocery store has better boneless wings than KFC. You'd think KFC would get it right. shake

The problem with KFC boneless wings is that they just dump the standard chicken in the wing sauce, and the "11 secret herbs and spices" just don't work with wing sauce. Blech.

I will say this: Jack in the Box's Mini Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwiches rock.

You were wise. I tried the Five Guys right around the corner from my house and would have tolerated even a medium well burger. No such luck. Well done and dry. I haven't been back.

To be fair, I've been told that the original Five Guys (which is in Arlington, VA, I think) is much better than the branches. But until I give that location a try, I can't recommend this joint to anyone except those who prefer shoe leather to hamburgers. How they've earned their sterling reputation (and how they keep expanding) is beyond me.
