Name: Keep
Cost: 3 4 (Hopefully will get the card art to update soon)
Type: Action
If this is your first Action, discard your hand and +(5).
Otherwise, +(2).

Great helper in getting Duke/Duchy deck along.
Definitely an eye candy when people see +5 coin.
Here's the thing to keep in mind. Most hands consist of 2 - 4 coin anyway; this is just ensuring a 5-coin buy by adding 1 - 3 coin depending how much you short. It also takes up your buy as oppose to Feast.

I have not play tested it yet. Hopefully it will be balanced as is.

Edit: sorry about the typo. It should read:
If this is your first Action, discard your hand and +(5). Otherwise, +(2).

(extra "s" and missing period)

If using Black Market you could get around losing treasure in hand by storing it on the BM.

I suspect this may be too powerful. Compare it to Feast, where you get the 5 coins, sort of, but you have to trash the card.

Yea, i'm going to increase the cost by 1. Make it cost 4.
But the reason for that is not because of its first effect. The second effect "Otherwise, +(2)" is making it superior to cards that also cost 3 and +(2) like Woodcutter, Chancellor, and Swindler.

And in regards to comparison with Feast. This card does pass the "test".
Feast takes 1 buy, 4 gold, and 1 action to get a 5-cost card.
This takes 1 buy, 4 gold (after edit), and another action+buy for each 5-cost card. plus it doesn't work with other cards (as oppose to you can throne room a feast). So it's a fair comparison and it's balanced in that sense.

When comparing Feast w/ Keep, bear in mind that Keep allows you to combine that 5 gold with the other money in your hand, making it easy to buy a Gold or Province.

For mid/late game, Feast also has the benefit over Keep that it has a built in +1 Buy. If there are any Duchys left, that could be huge.

For early game, I'm not sure Feast is as good as Moneylender or Smithy. Moneylender (a strong card early, a weak card late) is the type of card that Keep should be compared with in terms of which to buy.

No it doesn't. It makes you discard your hand, which means your money is gone by the time you reach the Buy phase.

Whoops, missed the "discard your hand". Thought that was pretty strong... laugh

Interesting. A permanent Feast, which can be a good or bad thing. I like the idea.

"first Action card PLAYED". This would make it clearer, as it could be the first one you drew;
