Alex specifically refers there to making the current turn-marker the model for add-on wooden trains - they'd be like that black train we got, originally.

I'm curious - do you like that particular piece? (Does it meet your wishes for wooden trains? I don't much like it, myself; it's a bit amorphous.)

edit - minor wording

Gimme!!!

Broke out Steam over the weekend and after playing AoS 3d Ed I really missed the plastic trains. And the paper money, to be totally honest (and to piss off the anti-paper-money crowd).

I would only be interested if it also included some extra goodies, like a 2nd set of track tiles, or maybe an expansion map.

I have zero interest in wooden trains. Discs are superior.

A second set of track tiles and a set of wooden trains would be awesome!

At the moment I use the discs for the tracks, and 20 Chicago Express trains for each color . The discs are of course functional enough, but the wooden trains look so cute on the board .

It's okay, but they could do better.

To satisfy some sort of OCD caused by the tile manifest not being exactly the same as Age of Steam?

He's promised Z-Man a new game by January and wants a set a tiles for the prototype. It'll be called Age.

Too soon?

I want them because I think tile-limiting is a very dull & tedious game mechanic. We have run out of certain tiles in 5-player games on the Ruhr map, and even simple tile has run very low. This can only get worse on bigger maps. Not a huge deal, but I'd just like be able to say at the beginning of my games 'there are no tile limits!' without someone taking this as a personal challenge.

I think tile limiting is a good game mechanic in a game with far fewer tiles. It's totally out of place in train game. A game mechanic that only comes into play at the very end of a game with a lot of players is just sloppy design.

Agreed. I should have been more specific in my comment.

It remains a very probable yes (and possibly released in the US a touch earlier than Essen). I'll post once details are confirmed.

Bring some (a bunch) to BGG.CON so we can buy them in person.

Are we talking about this piece?

It looks good to me. How is it amorphous?

When it's not directly in profile, but that's just my opinion...
