I came across these interesting full size glass baduk stones in multiple colors in frosted or clear. I have no idea if it's possible to get these in the US but it think they look kind of neat. I wish the craft store gems could be found with this level of regularity.

I don't think that having one set of clear and one frosted counts as 1-colour Go. If they'd called it "1 1/2 colour Go" it would have been more descriptive and more intriguing too.

I'd be interested in playin "1 1/2 colour Go", though.

They list trade statistics for the USA so I assume you can get it. I'm not sure I can though, nor how much it'd be for either of us.

Please let us know what you think if you ever get them!

Here are my favorite crazy colored Go stones:

Quite "spendy" though...

Anyone ever seen go stones out of bakelite? I like the sound of bakelite pieces, imagine it would have worked well for go.

Some of the better-quality plastic stones look and feel like bakelite; that may be what they are. They're still plastic stones though. Glass is better, and slate and shell is better yet.

Oh, and Yunzi (to me) is somewhere between glass and slate and shell. What is the name of the stuff Yunzi stones are made out of?

Jiao Nato posted a variant I made up called TREASURE GO. It is far more sophisticated than most other variants. Here is the link:

Sorry if this is reviving an ancient thread... But is there anywhere that colored stones such as these are actually still available? For order to the US.
