I am sure I just don't know how the awards work, but how is Valour of the Guards (MMP) a nominee? It came out over 2 years ago.

Valor of the guards is listed here as 2008, didn't come out after case blue at the very end of 2007 beginning of 2008? I can't remember for sure, or was it just before? I suspect if counts as released once it is sent to shops, not just preorders and given MMP's rather long shipping times who knows on that front . Monmouth is another story, I guess it is a little like the golden geek awards ore something.

I'm pretty sure it was released at/around Winter Offensive in January 2008.

I've think it may have supposed to have been The Battle of Monmouth, which was listed on the ballot as Monmouth Courthouse.
