If your orange juice doesn't burn on the way down, then you need more vodka!

Ok, I am currently building my 1/144 scale Canvas Eagles set using the Wings of War: Miniatures. I have pretty much everything I need except a good wooden base to attatch the 'antenna' piece to. This is what I am idealy looking for:

That size might be a bit big but essentially that is what I want. A hex shape would work as well, but I like the round. I have searched all over this city for something to no avail and my GoogleFu has failed me big time. I would rather not have to make my own, as I do not own the tools needed and I am growing tired of borrowing my brothers tools all of the time.

Any ideas? I am thinking 2-2.5" for the width.

Thanks

*edit* I have contacted Phil about this image and where he got his, but he hasn't responded to me yet.

What about cheap sets of wooden coasters? Look in thrifts or dollar stores.

Hey Brandon,

If you have a Michaels, or other similar crafts store, they usually have small wooden plaques (or stands) like that. I'm not sure if they're that small, but it's worth a shot.

Thanks Barry, I have hit all of those around here I can find and everything they have is either too thin or two big in diameter. I hit the thrift stores today as well

Litko Aerosystems will custom-built bases for you. As examples, 50mm and 60mm round 3mm plywood bases are $10 for 50 (about 20 cents apiece). For that price, you could buy two different sizes and make your own "wedding cake" style bases by stacking them.

Then how about some aeroplane styles with those that were as of yet unavailable amongst theirs, with this fellow's in 1:144th 'scale'?
http://www.tin-soldier.com/cgi-bin/ustorekeeper.pl Just select "Aircraft Kits" to get you started and peruse for what you choose!
His are 'metal cast', as well with being hand-fashioned by YOU, and even the 'decal selections' may yet provide other unique "stylings" that were desirable.

Inquire upon whether or not that he still has the 'pilots' figures for these while you're at it.

Those look nice, but kinda pricey if you need a lot.

How about these at 30 cents a pop?

Well, I only need 10 of them so if I get the 2.5" round wood walnut finish ones they are only $2.50 each. So $25 isn't bad.
