What is the difference between creating threads in the bugs forum or adding it via http://bugs.boardgamegeek.com/ reachable via Misc -> Bugs?

Will a new thread create an entry in the bug tracking system automatically or?

They are separate systems. The bugs.boardgamegeek.com is the preferred method of reporting bugs as it creates an index that the bug hunters can navigate quickly to prioritize and address problems as they come in.

Interesting. I wasn't aware of the existance of the separate system. How are bugs handled then when they are posted in the forum?

I try bringing bugs posted in the forums to the attention of at least one of the programmers, so they do get looked at. The bugs.boardgamegeek.com system is just more convenient for us.
