I did a solo play of this scenario to get a feel for it.
Soviets start with an armored recon unit in the NE and a large assault force to the SE (7 BMP2 missile apc with infantry plus 3 T-80). Hinds and SU-25's show up later.
British set up along the Rhine with only a small recon force (2 scimitars and a missile firing Striker) and a small mechanized infantry force (3 infantry + apc and a recon unit). Later they get 3 challenger's and a Rapier AA vehicle. British also get 8 improved positions (trenches).
Both sides have artillery barrages.

Setup - The Bbritish only have 2 missile units to start with (1 infantry and 1 Striker) so the Striker is placed to cover the NE bridge approaches while the 3 infantry are set up to cover any of the E or SE bridge approaches. APC's are hidden in the towns (they only have anti-infantry weapons) along with a mortar unit (also HE only).

Initial Russian plan is to destroy the Striker then unload infantry to assault the remaining missile armed infantry (1 weapon that is allocated to 1 of the 3 infantry).
The Recon group advances quickly, as the Striker is hidnig behind a hill with a narrow shot at the bridge crossing. The T80's and 2 BMP have no targets. British scout cars are hiding in the woods west of the bridge crossing.

Russian Assault force initially moves SW, planning to use their 2 bridging units to cross into trees rather than an open bridge crossing under fire. British react by pushing a recon unit into the trees (allowing opportunity fire if the bridging unit lays the bridge) and moves an infantry to give a better angle on the NE bridge.

Russians suddenly noticed that the infantry movement left the central bridge open. The assault force drives quickly and almost the entire force makes it over the bridge. British response is limited to a desperate MLRS strike, which disrupts almost the entire Assault force, but no damage done.

Russian Recon force charges over the NE bridge, and 2 volleys of missiles only manage to disrupt 1 unit and damage another. Then the British have to redeploy to handle the Assault force charging at them. The Recon force makes it into cover in the North woods with only 1 T-80 destroyed, and only 2 British recon units defending the area.

Assault force continues its advance, only slowed by the unlucky failure of the units on the bridge to rally from the confusion of the MLRS strike. This traps the HQ on the wrong side of the bridge and limits the advance momentarily. The gutsy British recon unit is destroyed. British seem paralyzed by the massive armor onslaught.

Russian recon unit charges ahead, their armored go carts (BRDM) zoom into the woods and draw the ineffective fire of the British recon units. Then the T-80 and BMP's leisurely drive up the road adjacent to the recon units and prepare to annihilate them. Assault units gets over the bridge and is now within cannon range of the lone British infantry guarding Dattenberg. Things are going great, even with the impending Challenger's reinforcement, the Assault force will be fully deployed into the city well before they get into range. And the Hinds have arrived and begin taking up firing positions to cover the Challenger's assault.

Then, at this grimest hour, the British become enraged and suddenly begin a withering counter assault (maximum Brit chit draw, 4 activations per unit)
Quickly laying a smoke screen in front of the Hinds, seriously delaying their short visit, the Striker searches for targets. Suddenly the fact that the northern road adjacent to the recon units is an isolated bare hill becomes quite significant. Both missile units let loose on the T-80 and BMP, damaging them. Sensing weakness, the recon units charge the road and do a close assault which destroys the BMP and forces the T-80 to retreat up the hill. A second volley of missiles ends the T-80 and the HQ. Suddenly the Russian recon unit is leaderless and struggles to remain relevant while spread through the northern woods.

With the Russian recon unit in shambles and leaderless, the British turn on the Assault group. When the smoke clears, half the assault group is disorganized or damage. The Rapier finally moves into position and takes out a Hind before itself being destroyed before the Hind runs out of fuel. The challengers pull up on an overlooking hill and start laying down long range fire, damaging some more units. Motivated by the missile carnage, 2 British infantry suddenly surge forward and begin assaulting the disorganized Assault group on their flank.
The Russians half heartedly regroup, though a number of them are too stunned to respond to orders, and the British repel a few attacks before the Striker is finally overrun by Russian infantry. The rest of the Russians duck into the city to get cover from the Challengers on the hill. . . failing to notice the British infantry charging across the plains. A suicidal charge by both infantry units into the T-80's, aided by a final artillery barrage, and suddenly the last T-80 goes down, taking the HQ with them. Leaderless the remaining Russian forces are quickly decimated, well before their SU-25's are due to arrive.

Overall in interesting scenario. If not for an unlucky string of chit draws, my fast assault up the middle would have worked. Of course that only became an option once I realized some fire lane blind spots. LOS with the long range missiles makes initial setup critical in this game. A slower approach would have given my Hinds and SU's a chance to attack, but also allowed the British tanks to move into overwatch on the wooded hills. But with the Russians having 7 missile APC's and 2 infantry missils plus a tank missile launcher, the Assault group could have laid down a withering anti-armor barrage. As usual, the sticking point was missile infantry. Since only HE can affect them, and most of the HE is very short range (range 4-6 while missiles have a range of 14), infanty in buildings can be very tough to root out.
I also failed to use my Russian artillery as well as I could have, saving it until much too late in the game.
