This is the most amusing thing I think I've read recently.

Conservapedia: Barack Obama

My favorite quote from the page is "Obama used mind control during his campaign."

Who knew Young Earth Nutters could be so entertaining.

Well now I can write off Evolution as well as its supported by atheists using methodological naturalism.

I am also very impressed by the following, "Presuppositionalist Metaphysics holds that first principles should be discovered or known prior to developing an empirical method of inquiry. This is a time-honored philosophy that is still held by apologists the world over. In staunch contrast to presuppositionalism, logical positivists and pragmatists often seek, instead, to take the functionality of the empirical method as self-evident, and then infer ontological and cognitive stability from that."

edit: Just to make it clear - while factually accurate the above puts a very twisted spin onto things.

Hilarity?
Holy fk.
I'm really shocked after looking up a few terms.
Like communism: first line 2nd paragr.: "In the belief that "people cannot change", governments under the banner of communism have caused the death of somewhere between 40 million to 260 million human lives". Then I looked up Christianity, and on the whole page nowhere was any mentioning of how many million of deaths christianity has caused. Not saying it should, but differences like this make it a prime propaganda example, if I ever needed one.

There is grandeur in this view of life, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.

Unless you've been following conservapedia for years you truly have no idea how bizzare it really is. I recommend checking out rational wiki which is pretty much devoted to mocking conservapedia.

I never thought that phrase "Citation Needed" would make me laugh out loud. I was wrong.
Quote:

Barack Hussein Obama II claims to have been born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Barack Sr. and Ann Dunham in 1961, but there is evidence[Citation Needed] that he may have actually been born in Kenya. In 1967, he moved with his mother and new stepfather to Jakarta, Indonesia.

I really chuckled at the opening words to the "liberal entry":

A liberal (also leftist) is someone who rejects logical and biblical standards, often for self-centered reasons. There are no coherent liberal standards; often a liberal is merely someone who craves attention, and who uses many words to say nothing. Liberalism began as a movement for individual liberties, but today is increasingly statist, and in Europe even socialistic.

So after reading that article, I was thinking to myself that this web site is just satire, poking fun at the far right by taking their most extreme views and making them even more absurd, much like The Colbert Report. And then I read a few more articles, and I realized that they're actually serious on a lot of these (or really bad at satire). And being a conservative myself, that makes me cry

Conservapedia was founded by Andy Schlafly, son of conservative wackjob [citation needed] Phyllis Schlafly. That should tell you that they are deadly serious.

Wow. You're serious. Are they? Einstein derived it in the paper where he proposed it and it's been experimentally verified ad nauseam.

I guess when you need to find scientist editors who think the earth is only 6000 years old and deny evolution and climate change, you're can't avoid ending up with folks who hold "interesting" viewpoints.

Amazing.

I'm too lazy to read their whole article. Someone please tell me who's read it: what's their problem with relativity?

In case anyone has a lot of spare time, here's a project for you: see how many of the items you can refute on their page Counterexamples to Relativity
