I've only just now came across Agricola Express...and it looks really intriguing...and a bit confusing.

I looked at the rules pdf, and came away even more confused.

So, can someone please post a sample turn session that explains the flow of the game? I looked at the session report and it was still confusing to me. Surely I'm not the only one with many questions about how this works...okay, I probably AM the only one...oh well...

So, I guess I'm looking for a "Agricola Express for Dummies" guide...

Thanks,
jrbentley

Roll all the dice.

Sample roll:
2 Trees, 1 brick, 1 cow, 2 pigs, 2 wheat, 1 food, baking oven, pasteur, mayor

pick one set from the list to keep as this play. possibilities include:

Take 2 wood
Take 2 wheat
Pay 1 food and to take the mayor
Pay 1 brick or stone to take the oven
take the pasture and the cow which doubles to give 2 cows (1.2 original)
take the pasture and the 2 pigs (1.2b variant only)

in the 1.2 original, the food for the mayor or the brick for the oven must come from your personal supply, in the 1.2b variant, you could pay this cost from the remaining dice you rolled.

regardless. Write down your choice.

Pass the dice. when they come back to you, repeat the above.
After all farmers have gone (including babies taken), the round is over.

After the third round is the harvest. Feed, Breed, and Score according to the rules.

Repeat 2 more rounds. Harvest and score again.
Repeat 1 final round. Harvest and score again.

total your score.

Thanks, this is most helpful. Still one question though:

"After all farmers have gone (including babies taken), the round is over."...

Don't get the part about "babies taken"....

Sorry, told you it was for a dummy....!

Thanks,
jrbentley

I'll see what I can pull together, but I can't get to it till Sunday. Sorry for the cryptic nature of the rules. That's what I get for trying to be as brief as possible.

one of the valid actions is to expand your family... this is a third farmer, which allows you more actions in the next round... The first 2 "free" family are the parents, and the third is your child or baby. Unlike regular agricola, it needs a turn to "grow up" a child can be used immediately in agricola express.
