I just went to the following page http://www.boardgamegeek.com/plays/bygame?sortby=distinctuse...
and used the GUI to enter a date range.
The following page resulted, and says "no games found"
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/plays/bygame/start/2009-07-15/e...

The ?subtype=all is causing the problem.

Remove it by hand to see the real results.

An issue still exists if you have more than one page of games played. The second page still says "No games found."

That should be fixed now. Please let me know if I introduced any new bugs in plays (it is very possible), but be aware that I may not be able to fix them until at least tomorrow.

It still doesn't work for me if I leave "All" as a parameter.

By the way, I reported this on the bugs platform, but it seems it will take a lot of time before even being read by someone over there. Is this platform really useful?

Still broken. As the previous poster said, nothing appears when the default parameter "all" is used.

I have the same problem with my games played in the last thirty days. It shows every ones games played during that period.

I'm having weird issues with the Games Played page as well. Here's what I'm seeing...

First I go to this link:

http://boardgamegeek.com/plays/bygame/user/HenryFatass/subty...

Then I narrow by date to show me all plays from 1/1/2000 thru Today, which takes me here:

http://boardgamegeek.com/plays/bygame/user/HenryFatass/subty...

This page shows me all of the plays I've ever recorded, even those recorded with a date before 1/1/2000.

Now, why would I have recorded plays that go back that far? Well, it's a weird little system I've created which allows me to record all of my games from childhood, but keeps them separate from my regular, current plays. As I remember games from my pre-BGG days, I'll record a single play for that game using a date of 11/7/1977 (my bday) and a location of "Back in the Day". This helps me when it comes to sorting out my plays. So...is there something in the new BGG code that's preventing me from using this old date? I mean if it weren't for the whacked system I created, who would honestly be recording plays from 1977?

This was an intentional change--Searches with arbitrarily early play dates were becoming a large drain on the system, so we simplified the query so that any start play date that predates when the "games played" function went live (I believe July or August 2003) are treated as if they are asking for any arbitrarily early play date.

I suggest putting in some date after July 2003 for your start date if you want to exclude those very early plays.

Ahh...I figured it was something like that. Cool! Thanks for the fast reply. I'll change those play dates and everything will be working perfectly again.

Thanks!
Chris
