so I need any idea what game should I get.

must meet to criteria

1) fun game with high replayability factor
2) you personally play the game thumbsup

all I know is "liars dice", "Yahtzee" and seen
review of "dice town"

thanks for your valuable input in advance.

I've only played one, the only one being Liar's Dice, but I would consider looking up Roll through the Ages and The Settlers of Catan Card Game. There was also a recent PnP Dice Game Contest which is worth checking out.

Despite being the sort of player who you might have guessed would dislike the luck in dice games, actually there are several I like. They all include some measure of control as well as the obvious luck in dice games. I'd list (in alphabetical order) as of particular note:

Bluff
Can't Stop
Pickomino
Ra the Dice Game
Risk Express
Roll Through the Ages
To Court the King

I would caveat by saying don't play Pickomino with too many players, with 6 or 7 it isn't good. Ra the Dice Game hasn't reached these shore yet, but I have still play(test)ed it quite a bit, so it's a real suggestion, not a hope.

Excape and Sushizock im Gockelwok are dice games I play and enjoy.

Stone Age is a boardgame that uses dice in a unique and clever way. I'd definitely recommend it as well.

Does Qwirkle Cubes qualify?

Toss Up!

Stone Age, Kingsburg, Can't Stop and the SoC Card Game are excellent ideas.

An often overlooked Goodie is Würfel-Bingo from Ravensburger. It got great reviews (for a dice game). So if there is interest I will look them up.

We play with the piggyback rules. We always carry 6 dice with us so we can plan when there is down time.

This question reminded me of another game I have, but had forgotten about, so I'll mention Stack. It can be fun with the right mix of people.

Liar's Dice is the ultimate dice game.
It's cheap, all you need to buy is 5 dice per player (so $4 and you are set).
It's easy to carry/transport (again, just 5 dice per player).
It can be played anywhere all the time (parties, bars, picnics, & camping are some of the places that I've played it).
Replayability is great. It's the game that I've played the 2nd most since I've started tracking plays - and once I even played 25 times in a single night!

Yep, it's awesome...

Monopoly Express is a really fun, portable, cheap, clever dice game that's easy to find right now and the gameplay reminds me of Can't Stop, which is probably the best classic push-your-luck strategy dice game out there. That's one you can print out a board and buy some dice and markers to make your own.

Don't reject Monopoly Express simply because of the theme; it's basically a push your luck dice game and all the dice are different, so there are a lot of possibilities in any given game.

One pure dice game that you might not think of is GOLO, which has the theme of Golf, but which is really a bunch of 12-sided dice and you're trying to roll the lowest score. It's just dice, a dice cup, rules, a score pad and a pencil all in a vinyl bag, but you really only need the dice. This is one you can find at Barnes & Noble bookstore or online and it's great fun to pass the time, try to beat your own score solo or play an opponent.

Google searching "dice games" or searching "dice" here on BGG is a good way to discover some cool free stuff since many games are print and play. Koplow games makes a lot of dice games as well as a variety of unusual dice for gaming and game prototypes.

If you can find it, Dice Games Properly Explained is the best book on dice games you can play with 6-sided dice, but it's out of print and very expensive.

Check out this categorized list of dice games and their rules.

The game Ten Thousand is very good. Commercial variants include Farkle and Cosmic Wimpout.

I have played quite a few games mentioned so far and I have to say that most of them are really good.

Can't Stop is at the top of my list, as is Pickomino.

I will also add Cinq-O. It is a very light and simple Yahtzee variant but is is very portable, cheap, fast and still offers decisions.

Alex,

maybe a little late on this thread, but I've got to tell you about Scarabs & Scorpions (yes, it is one of my games).

We've played this just about everywhere, home, scout camps, youth trips, office lunch breaks. I finally even got it submitted to BGG this week.

Now I need to go check out Kingsburg; it looks interesting.
