So far the only thing I've found is the Pearl Harbour soundtrack, which has a few songs that work pretty well, but I was wondering if anyone has found anything else..
The Pearl Harbour soundtrack is pretty dark, and it would be better with something that sounds a bit more heroic, and a bit more adventureous..

Hahaha, let me guess..
The Ride of the Valkyries?

I also thought of that, but it would remind me too much of Apocalypse Now..

Sounds epic, and now I just remembered the Red Baron Movie, wonder if the soundtrack was any good..

Game soundtracks for the win, I actually use the soundtrack from the Call of Cthulhu videogame for our Arkham Horror sessions, it's mostly just ambient tracks so it's perfect and doesn't disturb you when you're trying to think..

Depends on what sort of scoring you are trying to do...

Blue Max soundtrack has been mentioned. Wings had quite a sound track. Hells Angels. Try more modern movies- Richtofen and Brown, Flyboys...

Has anyone been to Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in New York? I used to go every year. While you are wandering around the hangars looking at the WWI aircraft they play old 1910-1920 music over those old P.A. speakers up on telephone poles and it sounds brilliant.

I'm not suggesting the speakers... just the old music. The kind of stuff WWI pilots would listen to between sorties. Here's a pretty good sampling that you can listen to.

I love making thematic playlists to run in the background while I game. For example, a group that I game with plays the pen & paper RPG "Deadlands" so we have a western soundtrack mix to go with that.

As far as Wings of War suggestions go, the music from www.firstworldwar.com is top notch! Although some of the next few suggestions are not the right era for the WWI gamers out there, I would also like to suggest the following music to get you in the gaming spirit:

Django Reinhardt (swinging jazz guitar) - 1930's & 40's

Isham Jones & His Orchestra - 1920's swing

The Andrews Sisters (anthemic WWII USO'esque music) - 1940's

Bessie Smith (jazz/blues) - 1910's & 20's

Edith Piaf (French female singer) - 1930's & 40's

Lucienne Boyer (French female singer) - 1920's & 30's

"The Imposters" (movie soundtrack)

My current Wings of War playlist clocks in around 12 hours (I shuffle it at random), and it includes: Isham Jones, Djano Reinhardt, "The Imposters" soundtrack, music from www.firstworldwar.com

Thanks for this data.
I love Django's music (but I seems it's more for a WW2 French Campaign game)
Edith, She can be sooooo tragic and dramatic!!

Excelent link: firstworldwar.com, tons of music!!.
Good music, always well received!!!

thanks again

best regards
Pablo
