Darth Bane, possibly the most powerful Sith Lord that ever lived, must now face a greater extra-galactic threat. Invasion from the Yuuzhan Vong! Opening a rift in time the powerful Sith Lord brings together Sith Lords from across time. The thrawn figure of Warmaster Tsavong Lah taunts the Sith, making their anger ever greater. This battle for the galaxy will be totally and utterly without mercy!

Map: Jedicartographer’s Theed map

The Yuuzhan Vong squad was a half Super-Stealth squad and was making use of all the Commander Effects and damage boosting Special Abilities available to them. The Vong were also putting g a lot of faith in making Armour saves. The Sith meanwhile were simply going for straight damage with an attack boost from Darth Malek, although many Sith Force powers were going to be of little use against the Force Immune Vong.

Both squads were Melee heavy so the first two rounds were nothing more than moving into range. Bane and Darth Maul would make their route via the top of the map, moving down into the centre room. The Vong moved straight up the middle of the board, except for the Warmaster and the Scout who would move through the south rooms. The rest of the Sith squad would move centrally from the east.

The room at the centre of the board would by the third round become the major battle ground.

Lobot was able to lock out the Warmaster, forcing him to take the long route around keeping him out of the action for a couple of rounds. And the Sith took not time in assaulting the Jedi hunter, both falling early.

Malak caught Tamtel Skreej and Mission Vao together with Force Lightening, but the Warmaster would defeat Malak with a combination of the damage boosts.
Lumiya was then able to Force Push Tamtel, defeating him.
At the other side of the room Bane and Maul were in the thick of the action with the Yuuzhan Vong making the most of Yomin Carr’s spit poison Command Effect and the Ossus Guardian was inflicting a great amount of damage against Bane. Despite his high hit points Bane was defeated.

Casualties were being taken on both sides every round, the skirmish was surprisingly balanced until Lumiya and then Darth Maul were defeated.

The decider was then really between Dash and the Warmaster but the Warmaster had his armour. Dash was charged down and defeated. This leaves the Sith with only the Echani Handmaiden on 20HP against a full HP Nom Anor with the Elite Warrior and Priest. The Sith concede defeat.

Gaming oddities.
Yuuzhan Vong at one point rolled 2, 3, 4 and 1 on consecutive Attack rolls, obviously all missing.
At one point three 20’s were rolled in a row.
Dash Rendar on three consecutive rounds rolled a 2 on his second Attack roll.

Player tactical mistakes
Yuuzhan Vong failed to realise Tamtel & Mission were grouped out of cover and legal targets for Darth Malaks Force Lightning.
Yuuzhan Vong forgot Lumiya had Force Push.
Sith forgot three Vong character had not activated allowing all three to Spit Poison at Darth Maul and defeat him.

We ended the evening with a quick 100 pts game, Old Republic vs Sith.

Old Republic
Vodo Siosk-Baas
Wookiee Elite Warrior
Jedi Battlemaster
Old Republic Recuit x2

Sith
Darth Malak, Dark Lord of the Sith
Dash Rendar, Renegade Smuggler
Crimson Nova Bounty Hunter
Wicket

Not really much to say on this one. The game lasted for five founds, with fourth round Initiative critically falling to the Old Republic. The game was then between Dash and Vodo who was down to 40 HPs. Sith win Initiative but going first meant Dash was without Opportunist so needed to land all four hits.
Dash hits. Vodo forces a re-roll, Dash still hits!
Dash misses, seems over for the Sith.
Dash Critical hits! He can still do it, until Vodo who has Master of the Force 2 forces him to re-roll, just a hit.
Dash misses his final attack.
Vodo activates and defeats Dash.
