We've been exploring some potential advertising in the video game region, so I just thought I'd try to get a sense of what kinds of things y'all like...

Bring on the digital goodness...
No, thank you. I'm strictly analog.
2. If you do play video games, what kinds of games do you play..?

Puzzles (Incredible Machine)
Retro/Old Skool (Atari 2600)
Other..?
3. If you do like video games, how do you play them?

The big kind of video game you missed was RPGs. There are really good ones, like Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Final Fantasy. They are very different from MMORPGs (which I really dislike.)

It's fun, it's healthy, it's good exercise. The kids will just love it. And we put a little sand inside to make the experience more pleasant.

You know, they say there was a man who jumped from the forty-FIFTH floor? But that's another story...

Yes, I play video games. No consoles, only on a pc. You don't have crpgs (computer role playing games) listed so I chose other as well as first person shooters.

I had trouble figuring out what category sports games fit into, so I just chose "Other."

I like video games but don't play them often. When I purchase them, I do like I do with the Geek. I decide I want a new game to play, research current games for systems I own, and find a best purchase. Ocasionally I impulse buy from the used rack at the video store.

Do I play them: Yes
Am I the target market: Yes
Will advertising lead me to purchase them: No

I play music/rythem games like Rock Band and DDR. I also play lots of fighters like Street Fighter and Soul Caliber. I also like some racing games like Mario Kart. As someone mentioned, RPGs is different from MMORPGs. Like Final Fantasy, Pokemon, Persona. Neverwinter Nights also fits into this and there shouldn't really be a destiction between computer and cosole rpgs. There's also hack and slash like Dynasty Warriors that I enjoy. And party games like Wario Ware and Mario Party, though the last ones suck for innovation. I know there are those who love sport games and simulation games, but I'm not one of them. I do like some shooters, but not as much. I'm just not that great at them.

I love video games. We have several consoles (360, wii, PS2, older consoles) and we each have a DS(handheld console, for those who don't know). I play tons of DS games and tend to stick with jRPGs for consoles. I also play City of Heroes, which is an MMO. I also like some action adventure console games

I love any gaming.

There's just not as much originality in video games. Still, Zelda: Link to the past & Tekken Tag are 2 of my all time favorite games.

With PS3, Wii, Atari 2600 and 7800, DS, and PC, our house is VERY video game friendly. Adults and kids alike play both digital and analog.

Though I must admit it gives me great satisfaction when my 6 year old girls ask for us to play a board game rather than a video game. Lord of the Rings, Ghost Chase, and The Hobbit are current favorites. There is also an occassional request for a board game "we haven't played before." A request I will be able to oblige for a long time to come...

Edit for typos.

Our family occasionally likes to play games on an old Atari or Intellivision. My kids' friends don't seem to mind that it's not a Nintendo or Wii.

I prefer relatively primitive video games (Asteroids, Space Invaders, Frogger, etc.). On our home computer, I'll play flash games from the Ferry Halim website.

My husband's and kids' tastes are more sophisticated*, but they're not the ones taking the survey.

*Edit: WoW, Lego: Star Wars, Oregon Trail, etc.

Grand Theft Auto

I ended up checking that category thinking it was the closest thing to single player RPGs.

Video games just seem wrong after board games. There's something fascinating and wonderful about getting out a board game, setting things up, physically moving piece and playing cards. Video games seem false, like eating a pill instead of having a roast to get your sustenance.

The proud owner of many games consoles, old and new, and more games than I care to count.

When I'm not playing board games I'm playing or designing video games. I'm going into the second year of a degree in 'Interactive Game Design' and I'm aiming for a job in the industry when I finish (as hard as that may be).

So yeah, I'm a fan of both.
