I love it how every time the geek changes something we get long and drawn out threads about how BGG really did it this time, the end is neigh, jumped the shark, etc, etc. Yet BGG continues to grow at breakneck speed year, after year, after year. They are proven wrong, every time. You can't stop BGG, you can't even contain it.

When are the complainers going to learn?

So you are saying that all complainers are wrong because the site keeps growing thus, qed, all changes are for the better?
You make assumptions that cannot be answered positively or negatively. All the changes are for the better - can anyone prove that? We have 350,000 subscribers, roughly - would we have more or less than that if some of the changes had not been made?
BGG grows at breakneck speed - perhaps it would have grown at double breakneck speed if some changes had not been made.
Complainers have a viewpoint that may be different from yours. If you are saying that they should not be allowed to complain, then perhaps we should lock the doors, close the windows and take to our beds - obviously the end of the world is nigh and democracy is dead.

Not one of your most persuasive critical threads I would suggest!

I love it how every time someone doesn't like something about BGG, the yes-men come out of the woodwork claiming that they hate Derk and Aldie and just want BGG to fail. You guys remind me of the seinfeld episode where george gets all pissed about offending the "delicate genius". When are the sycophants going to learn?

No. He has lots of threads in which he displays incredible jealousy of Winkles. Maybe we should feed him a carrot or two.

Why is this so hard to understand?

There's something about the geek personality that hates change. Change the colour of an icon, instant uproar. Move an item three pixels to the left, massive displeasure. Add some whitespace in geeklists, hatred. New name, near riot.

I guess I'm not a true geek, when changes are made, I just adjust.

That is the most frightening thing I've read on the Internet all week.

By the time I notice those complaining threads, they are pages and pages long. I end up skimming a little bit and then give up as I feel my time and soul getting sucked right out.

Besides, I actually LIKE the name Geekdo. It's vague. I'd rather tell a regular (as in, nongamer) person that name than BoardgameGeek, which sounds really geeky but not in a cool way. Although, this place will always just be the Geek to me no matter what the official name.

Someday, I'd love to be able to go to Geekdo and have tabs for movies, computer/video games and books as well. The whole concept is a great idea.

Yep you said it right, BGG (Board Game Geek). Not Geekdough.

BGG will outlast and win...not the knock off...
