1) Type your session report in the text editor of your choice. In this way you can save the file and work on it at your leisure. This also mitigates the risk of having the Geek go down before you hit the submit button.

2) Navigate to the game on which you're reporting, go down to the Forum section, and click on the Sessions link.

3) Click on the Post > link.

4) Copy and paste your session from your text editor into the form's body.

5) Add a subject.

6) Preview the result, and then click on Submit to post the session report.

Enjoy!

I use a text editor on my computer. Sometimes wordpad, sometimes MS/Word. If you don't have access to a text editor, then you can type your report directly into the form, just as you typed these messages.

You may also be able to use your mail program.

A word of caution: if you want BGG images in your session report, you need to insert them using the and buttons. A good idea is Preview, Preview, Preview! Set some time aside and try to get your session report looking very nice by previewing it. If you run into a technical problem--like how do you get inline images, as I've done above--open a new browser tab (right click and choose from the menu; or center/wheel click) and see how a user's done it. There's also stuff in the wiki: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/Forum_Formatting

If you really get stuck, cut and paste your message into WordPad to save it as a file on your desktop. Then come back here and ask, "I want to do X but all I get is this stupid Y! What do I need to do to get X?" including the example of the problem area from your post--no need to include the whole thing. We'll be happy to give you a hand.

You can also create a Session Report (or any other Geek-related document) using your own GeekMail account.

Create a GeekMail to yourself and work on this masterpiece at your leisure. You can add even BGG images and other Geek stuff right on that page.

When you're ready to stop hit "Save Draft" and your article will be waiting for you in your "Drafts" box.

As another Geek mentioned, pray BGG doesn't crash while you're typing. cry

Good Luck!
