Seems like an odd looking/super basic site. How do we know that it is actually posted by FRED? The FRED90909 at gmail email address doesn't instill me with confidence either.

Looks pretty legit based on the posts below. It's almost like watching a soap opera except without the sex, bizarre plot twists and female audience. I'm still secretly hoping that John and Martin are brothers unknowingly separated at birth. I probably shouldn't make merry about some very real issues that these people are dealing with, but on the other hand, some of the parties involved seem to want to make this a bit of a show.

This is all legit. I was recently on the phone with the gentleman who created the site for FRED. Here's the info after pinging whois.com:

There are plenty of people who have not taken sides, myself being one of them.
In fact I've chided people for taking sides when they really don't know shit about what happened.

If they want me for a mediator, I volunteer.

I still haven't the faintest fucking idea who's fault all this brouhaha has been, nor do I really care. People have disputes all the time and the only way they ever work out is when both sides wish them to or a court decides. And even court decisions aren't always fair, just based on what they can figure out and what the laws are.

A clean resolution, though likely unpalatable to both sides (which most settlements are), would be for Mr. Wallace to assign all rights to _Brass_ to FRED Distribution.

This is offered in the spirit of possible compromise, having no robot in this fight.

OK, I guess things had been getting a little too quiet around here.
People getting ready for Essen, or BGG Con. Very little blood and
violence.

But have to seen the video of the physicist doing a BBQ with
charcoal soaked in liquid oxygen?

This website feels a little like that.

I propose the South Park method of resolving this conflict:

1) a coin throw determines who begins
2) first kicks second as hard as they can
3) second kicks first as hard as they can
4) repeat steps 2 and 3 until only one remains standing
5) the winner's demands are acceded to.

This seems to me to best reflect the whole inane nature of this exchange.

After reading everything on that site, I say to both sides ...

Go to court. You're like two people talking who don't hear each other.

Go legal and let the professionals sort it out. Really, that will be the easiest and the best for everyone.

I have to agree that it seems this will never see its day in court and arbitration is the only likely outcome - the ammounts of money invovled are so insignifcant that a good lawyer will have spent them all before he/she even got around to reading all these emails.

I could be on a mediation panel. I would be unbiased. I own no Martin Wallace games and no FRED games. I have never played a Martin Wallace game in fact. I have the credentials, JD University of Chicago, ten years of practicing law, mostly employment.

I don't know what to make of that website. If it was actually set up with the consent of FRED, as it claims to have been, then I'm flabbergasted.

Yes, because after raping boardgamers for years with fixed prices, bad customer service, and horrible quality components, we would totally be unbiased.

I also see from those docs that, four years ago, Martin gladly offered to allow a reprint Princes of the Renaissance. And FRED didn't do it.

Two strikes...
