I'm looking to play around with the API a bit. After checking out the documentation on the wiki and forum post, I have a couple questions...

Are these the only "calls" you can make?:

/xmlapi/search
/xmlapi/boardgame
/xmlapi/collection

I've tried out the above, and those urls (with parameters of course) work nicely. However, are there any other methods to get data? For example, if I wanted to get data from the user, designer, or publisher objects, are there any xmlapi urls published for that?

Something like this, perhaps?:

/xmlapi/user
/xmlapi/designer
/xmlapi/publisher

I know you can get to all that information via html pages, but it's much easier to parse xml data. That way, you could ask for all the games a specific designer made, or for the zip code of a user, etc.

Just wondering. Thanks in advance for any help folks!

These seem to work:

http://boardgamegeek.com/xmlapi/boardgamedesigner/1234
http://boardgamegeek.com/xmlapi/publisher/1234

Being 1234 the id of the designer or publisher. But:

http://boardgamegeek.com/xmlapi/person/1234

looks to give only information of "People" that is, users like designers that have a special pages for them. I haven't found a way to get information from users like number of thumbs, current geekgold balance, etc. It would be great to access that data, screen scraping the users page is very tedious because all the tabs it has.

Thanks for the very helpful and super-fast reply! That should help me for now, and hopefully they'll add stuff for general users, etc.
I wish there was a "real" API with an index page that you could see what's actually published. But I'll certainly take what I can get.

Now I'm off to play with some GreaseMonkey scripts so I don't need to bug you every time I want something!
