I just watched a bit of the FoxNews show, Redeye. Mostly it was a lot of joking around and derogatory comments about the leadership of the country. Okay.

The disturbing thing was an interview with some young woman that is on the new show Community, and in the background, was a dark skinned fuzzy haired doll with a large blemish on the forehead, as if perhaps it had been shot in the head.

No wonder I don't usually watch FoxNews.

Edited for possibly offensive term. My apologies.

Um....someone's trying to hard.

First, in a bigger view that doll looks white. Secondly, that smudge doesn't look at all like a bullet hole to me. Where are you pulling this stuff out of?

Looking at John's avatar, it looks like he thinks about head shots a lot.

Didn't you know that liberals can use any language they want. It's only non-liberals that can cause offense with language.

Based on postings here, I think liberals are the only ones that regularly watch Fox News, too.

First off... the doll is obviously Italian. Secondly, that's a birthmark on it's forehead.

So you've managed to offend Italians, people with birthmarks and black people all at once. No wonder Fox News doesn't want you as a viewer.

So, . . . Tripp, I know you're a faithful Red Eye viewer, (Kinda wish it was on earlier, because what I've seen is amusing) . . . can you tell us what the heck is up with that thing anyway? Because there is absolutely no reference to it whatsoever in the entire segment that John is having fits over.

I missed that show. I usually see the program about 3 or 4 times a week. John is right about one thing though... the host is conservative and very funny. A deranged and slightly warped humor, but I like it and last night they were talking about having done 600 shows so it must have an audience.

Probably a bunch of Australians and Hawaiians

I know all the conservatives all over are really lashing back against any accusations of racism and its very understandable. If it came out that even part of your problem with the president had to do with his being black your other points would melt away into the void.
I have some conservative christian relatives who also say the same things that its not about race its about policy's. What was curious was that I asked my nephew from that part of the family if he heard any racist talk from the other adults re Obama and he answered with a resounding yes. Some how Im getting the idea that you guys are lying to us about your true feelings for the man or are denying your true feelings out of embarrassment. Seriously I know plenty of Liberals who are at least a bit racist in one way or another are you trying to tell us that you have none of those feelings your self and your completely pure?

Here's my answer...

Clarence Thomas - attacked relentlessly by liberals

Condy Rice - attacked relentlessly by liberals

Michael Steele - attacked relentlessly by liberals

Obviously liberals are racist. End of conversation. Defend yourself.

Hmmm... Well being that I have 6 bi-racial kids (half black - half white), and a black fiance and I am a conservative. I totally agree that I am racist as hell. Thanks for helping me with that.

So you two are saying that race has absolutely nothing to do with SOME conservatives attitudes towards our president? Are you guys in denial?

What a job this president is doing for our country. He gets elected and suddenly there are no racists anymore! Or have they been gone for a few years now and I just didn't notice?

I'm neither republican or democrat, (I voted for Obama) but I think that the constant attempts to call people racist who disagree with the president are completely ridiculous and I think will eventually backfire.

Basically what you are saying here (and what I have heard others say here in RSP) is I know a few conservatives who are racist so therefore all conservatives are racist AND (this is the funny part) conservatives wouldn't be disagreeing with the President so vehemently if they weren't racist.

Just talk about the stupid issues already and stop name calling. (That goes for both sides)

Race is an issue for "some" people. Liberals, conservatives, non-political people, etc. That's not what your comments suggested, nor is it what that fucknut Carter pretty much said.

Once you try and "win" a political debate by suggesting opposition to policy is really opposition to the color of the policy-maker's skin then you have already lost the debate.

It's a stupid conversation to have considering that the president won by a handy majority.

QFT.

Also, even if the person making the argument is racist, it doesn't make the argument wrong, does it? So let's discuss policy, not personality.

I typically agree with this point, but sometimes you have to fight fire with fire or people will start believing what is being said. This particular issue is a good example, if conservatives just sit back and let liberals call them racist because they oppose a black man's policy then some people will start believe that crap.

Some already do.

People can't tell if it's black or white. It is designed to appeal to children. And it has skin problem. If that doesn't describe Michael Jackson to a tee, then I don't know what does.

Oh, very clever, Fox News, but I see right through you, and I will not join you on the slippery slope of 1980s styles that can only lead to Hammer pants.

No!

You're absolutely right, first Clinton, then Obama. These black presidents are just getting no breaks from the Conservatives. The brutal attacks, the almost insane hatred, the conspiracy theory, all explained by skin color.

Also Red Eye is probably the funniest political show on television, and at halftime and the end has somebody criticize everything anybody said wrong or stupidly during the half. That's journalism.
